Provided is a sheet feeding device including a first arrangement member that abuts an end portion in a width direction of a fed and stacked sheet material, arranges the width direction of the sheet material, and forms a first blown-out port, a second arrangement member that is mounted on the first arrangement member, is disposed in a sheet material side with respect to the first arrangement member, abuts an end portion in a width direction of a small sheet material having a narrower width than the sheet material arranged by the first arrangement member, arranges the width direction of the small sheet material, and forms a second blown-out port, and a passage member that forms a passage introducing the air blown out from the first blown-out port to the second blown-out port.

A medium feeding device includes a medium-accommodating container, a loading member supported within the container and loading a medium thereon, a holding member, and a blocking unit. The holding member has a holding member body, gas suction openings, a peripheral member, a chamber surrounded by the peripheral member, and a suction unit connected to the gas suction openings and performing gas suction. The holding member holds the medium by suction. The gas suction openings include a gas suction opening disposed inside an edge of the peripheral member and outside an edge of the medium. The blocking unit blocks the suction of gas through the aforementioned gas suction opening.

A recording-material-feeding device includes a stacking portion that holds a stack of recording materials, a lifting member that moves the stacking portion up and down between a feeding position at which a recording material is fed and a refilling position at which refill recording materials are supplied, a suction member that draws one or more recording materials by suction with a negative pressure, a negative-pressure-generating member that generates the negative pressure, and a stopping member that stops an edge of the stack of recording materials on the stacking portion and includes a sealing member that maintains the level of the negative pressure. The sealing member moves up and down between a retracted position at which refill recording materials are supplied and a sealing position at which the level of the negative pressure is maintained, the sealing member moving with the up-and-down movement of the stacking portion.

Recording-material-feeding device and image forming apparatus

A sheet supply device includes a sheet storing section on which sheets are stacked and are stored; a sheet feed unit controlled by a controller that feeds the sheets stored in the sheet storing section to a next process; and an air blower controlled by the controller that blows air to the sheets stored in the sheet storing section, the air blower has an air nozzle and a mechanism that can adjust a height of the air nozzle in an up-down direction, and the mechanism increases or decreases the air flow rate of the air being blown to the sheets, wherein a force provided by the air blower to push up the sheets is exerted on the sheets, such that a less force is exerted when the sheets are being fed compared to when the sheets are not being fed.

A sheet registration device includes: sheet transporting means for transporting a sheet in a transport direction thereof; a sheet positioning member which is disposed in a side of a sheet transport path and in parallel with the transport direction; lateral moving means for moving a sheet transported a long the sheet transport path, toward the sheet positioning member; detecting means for detecting a side edge of the sheet transported along the sheet transport path; moving means for moving the sheet transporting means in a direction perpendicular to the transport direction, the sheet transporting means being disposed downstream from the lateral moving means; and controlling means for, on the basis of a detection result of the detecting means, controlling a movement operation of the sheet transporting means by the moving means.

An image formation system includes: a paper transport unit transporting paper along a paper transport passage; an image formation unit forming an image on an image carry belt; an image sense unit sensing a position of the image formed on the image carry belt; a transfer unit transferring the image formed on the image carry belt to the paper transported by the paper transport unit; a paper passage sense unit sensing paper passage on the paper transport passage, the paper passage sense unit being disposed upstream from a position where the image is transferred by the transfer unit; and a control unit controlling paper transport speed of the paper transport unit based on the sense results of the image sense unit and the paper passage sense unit.

Image formation system

An image forming apparatus includes an image transfer unit disposed along a sheet feed path. A sheet feed roller feeds a sheet toward an image transfer position where an image can be transferred by the image transfer unit. A sheet detect unit detects the sheet fed by the sheet feed roller and a control unit controls the rotational operation of the sheet feed roller in accordance with a detection result of the sheet detect unit. As such, a sheet feed path length, which extends between the image transfer position and a detection position where the sheet is detected by the sheet detect unit, is set at an integer multiple of a circumferential length of the sheet feed roller.
