Some embodiments relate to systems and methods for communication of electronic signals. An example method includes receiving a first signal having a predetermined modulation. The example method includes generating a transmission for a second signal by superimposing the second signal on the modulation of the first signal by adjusting at least one of two phase states or two amplitude states of the modulation using a Reconfigurable Intelligent Surface (RIS). The example method also includes transmitting the second signal using hierarchical modulation, the predetermined modulation and the superimposed second signal on the predetermined modulation, wherein the first signal is transmitted at a higher data rate than the second signal.

A method and apparatus are provided for transmission in a communication system. The system includes a transmitter having at least one first and second antenna and a receiver, which includes at least one receiving antenna. The method includes determining a transmit diversity scheme for at least one group of symbols from among a plurality of modulated symbols. This step includes at least one step of obtaining a phase shift of at least one symbol of the at least one group of symbols. The phase shift is based on: at least one phase shift parameter N; and responses (h, h), respectively, between the at least one first antenna and the at least one receiving antenna and between the at least one second antenna and the at least one receiving antenna. The method further includes a step of phase shifting, allowing rotation of said symbol at a multiple of a &#x3c0;/N value.

Method and apparatus for optimizing transmission diversity

A method is provided for transmitting radio signals. Two channels are defined by two transmit antennas, having two orthogonal directions, together with two receive antennas, having two orthogonal directions. An optimal quality of one received signal is determined by signal processing, which emulates a rotation of the two orthogonal receive directions, and a mutual interference of the signals received on the two channels, due to a polarization mismatch, is cancelled, based on a corresponding optimal rotation angle.

The invention provides a device (D) for reducing ingress noise in a digital signal, comprising a noise predictor () for predicting an amount of ingress noise in the digital signal (s) based on past samples of the ingress noise, and a subtractor () for subtracting the predicted amount of ingress noise from the digital signal. Method of decoding a spatially multiplexed signal and its corresponding receiver

A peak power reduction method for wireless communication systems is proposed in which a constellation shaping is applied on input data symbols in order to reduce the peak power of the signal samples to be transmitted by the communication system.
