An outboard motor includes a duct, a propeller, a central shaft, and a plurality of fins. The duct includes a circular hole. The propeller is located in the circular hole. The propeller includes a boss and a plurality of blades radially extending from the boss. The central shaft rotatably supports the propeller. The plurality of fins radially extend from the central shaft and connect the central shaft and the duct. The plurality of fins define an airfoil profile.

Outboard motor

A marine propulsion unit includes a propeller that rotates around a rotation axis of a propeller shaft, a case in which the propeller shaft is disposed, and a skeg that extends downward from the case. The skeg includes a reinforcer with a mechanical strength greater than that of a base material of the skeg.

In a boat propulsion device, a head portion of an engine includes plug holes, first attachment portions, and a second attachment portion. The plug holes are aligned vertically and parallel or substantially parallel to a crankshaft. The first attachment portions are arranged on the periphery of the plurality of plug holes. The first attachment portions are configured to attach a plurality of ignition coils which are respectively integrated with spark plugs in a coil-on-plug configuration. A second attachment portion is provided separately from the first attachment portions. The second attachment portion is configured to attach an ignition coil connected to the spark plugs in a double ended ignition coil configuration via cables.

Boat propulsion device

A boat propulsion device includes an engine unit, an attachment portion, an electrical component, wiring, a holder, and an engine cover. The engine unit includes an engine, an exhaust pipe, and a coolant passage. The engine includes a crankshaft which extends vertically. The exhaust pipe is connected to the engine. The coolant passage is configured to cool the engine or the exhaust pipe. The attachment portion is provided integrally with the engine unit on the outside of the coolant passage. The electrical component is attached to the attachment portion. The wiring is connected to the electrical component. The holder is connected to the engine unit on the outside of the coolant passage and holds the wiring. The engine cover houses the engine unit, the attachment portion, the electrical component, the wiring, and the holder.

A boat propulsion device includes an engine, a first bracket, and a first electric component. The engine includes a crankshaft extending in an up-and-down direction. The first bracket is fixed to the engine. The first electric component is attached to the first bracket. The first bracket includes a first support portion and a second support portion. The first support portion includes a first lateral surface and a second lateral surface. The first electric component is attached to the first lateral surface. The second lateral surface is arranged opposite to the first lateral surface. The second support portion is connected to the second lateral surface in a position spaced away from both ends of the second lateral surface in a top view. The second support portion includes a first coupling portion coupled to the engine.
