A wire electrical discharge machine having an auto wire feeding function includes: guide parts arranged on a wire feed path along which the wire electrode is fed so as to guide the feeding of the wire electrode; fluid paths formed with the guide parts to supply a compressed fluid to the wire feed path; a compressed fluid supply device to supply the compressed fluid to the fluid paths; a tension detector to detect the tension of the wire electrode; and a control device that controls the compressed fluid supply device so as to supply the compressed fluid to the fluid paths, and based on the detection result from the tension detector, determines whether or not the wire electrode has reached a supply position of one of the fluid paths on the wire feed path to which the fluid has been supplied.

Wire electrical discharge machine and auto wire feeding method

A wire electrical discharge machine includes: a travelling route formed of multiple divisional regions, through which a wire electrode is fed by an auto wire feeding mechanism; and a memory storing failure evaluation reference data on the auto wire feeding for every divisional region. The wire electrical discharge machine detects failure of the auto wire feeding and locate the tip position of the wire electrode at the time of failure and causes a controller to determine whether to perform or stop retry of the auto wire feeding based on the located tip position and the failure evaluation reference data for every divisional region.

A reference point on a table center of an inclined rotating table in a wire electric discharge machine is obtained using a measuring jig. A biaxial rotation unit is placed on a table of the wire electric discharge machine. The measuring jig has a shape most suitable for reference point measurement using a contact sensing function of a wire electrode which a wire electric discharge machine generally has and includes a fixed section for being fixed to a work fixing section of the biaxial rotation unit, an arm section which is provided to stand on the fixed section, and a section to be measured which is provided at a distal end of the arm section and has a conductive spherical surface.

Method for measuring reference point of inclined rotating table in wire electric discharge machine and measuring jig

On a wire guide supporting face of a wire guide supporting part which supports a wire guide of a wire electric discharge machine, two wall faces which are orthogonal to the wire guide supporting face are formed to be arranged in a V shape. On the other hand, two planar parts which are abutted on the two orthogonal wall faces, which are arranged in the V shape, of the wire guide supporting part are formed on the wire guide. Then, the wire guide is fixed on the wire guide supporting part with a screw in a state in which the two orthogonal wall faces of the wire guide supporting part and the two planar parts of the wire guide are respectively abutted on each other.

A seal structure channels drainage of machining fluid from the periphery of an opening for a lower arm of a wire-cut electric discharge machine. The seal structure restricts flowage to the outside of machining fluid through the opening (slot) in a side of a machining tank and has a first seal and a second seal (a seal plate) affixed to the first seal so as to cover the opening. An unevenly shaped part including ridges and grooves extending in the long direction of the first seal is formed on the first seal, and passages are provided that communicate with the groove and the outside to channel the machining fluid drainage path. The first seal may be composed of a plurality of members. A suction device sucks up machining fluid draining from the passages.
