In a fixing device according to the disclosure, a first surface of a restriction member is inclined so that, as the first surface goes further away from a nip portion, the first surface inclines toward a direction coming closer to an edge surface of the film, and the first surface is inclined so that, as the first surface comes downstream in the conveying direction, the first surface inclines toward a direction going further away from the edge surface of the film. A second surface is inclined so that, as the second surface comes closer to a center in the rotational axis direction of the film, the second surface inclines toward a direction coming closer to a roller, and inclines in a direction going downstream in the conveying direction.

Fixing device

A fixing apparatus is used that has: a first rotation member; an elongated heater disposed in an internal space of the first rotation member, and having a heat generating member and a substrate on which the heat generating member is provided; a temperature sensing unit that detects a temperature of the heater; a heater holder that holds the heater; a second rotation member that forms a nip portion with the heater, across the first rotation member; a reservoir unit that stores grease that is supplied between the first rotation member and the heater; and an elastic member that encloses the temperature sensing unit, such that a toner image formed on a recording material is heated and fixed at the nip portion.

A fixing device includes a heating rotating member having a conductive layer and an exposed portion in which the conductive layer is partially exposed, and a roller including a metal core and an elastic portion, the roller forming a nip portion with the heating rotating member, the elastic portion being elastically deformed in a region where the nip portion is formed, wherein an annular conductive member provided in a longitudinal end portion of the metal core is in contact with the exposed portion of the heating rotating member while elastically deformed, and wherein in a state where the roller is not mounted to the fixing device, an outer diameter of the conductive member is smaller than an outer diameter of the elastic portion.

Image heating device

Provided is an image heating device that heats an image in a nip portion, including: a film; a heater; a roller that forms the nip portion with the film; a backup member; regulating members that regulate a movement of the film and move along with the backup member; and a frame that includes a guide portion to insert the regulating members and a shaft of the roller. The roller includes an elastic layer that is deformed by being pressed from a side which the film is placed, such that a distance between a rotation axis of the roller and the nip portion decreases, and that a volume of the elastic layer decreases. The guide portion guides so that the regulating members move more to a downstream side in a conveying direction of the recording material as the regulating members approach the rotation axis of the roller.

Image heating device and image forming apparatus

A heating device comprising: a first rotating member having an internal space in which a heating member and a holding member are disposed; a second rotating member that contacts an outer peripheral surface of the first rotating member; and a frame that integrally supports the heating member, the holding member, the first rotating member and the second rotating member, wherein the second rotating member forms a nip portion between the first rotating member and the second rotating member, the holding member holds the heating member such that at least a part of at least one end face of the heating member in a longitudinal direction thereof is exposed in the longitudinal direction, and the frame is configured such that at least the part of the heating member, which is exposed from the holding member, is also exposed out of the frame.

An image forming apparatus for forming an image on a recording material. The image forming apparatus includes an image forming portion, a fixing portion, an oblique movement detecting portion, and a controller. The image forming portion is configured to form the image on the recording material. The fixing portion includes a flexible cylindrical rotatable member and a roller in press contact with the rotatable member. The rotatable member and the roller are configured to form a fixing nip, in which the recording material, on which the image is formed, is nipped and fed. The oblique movement detecting portion is configured to detect oblique movement of the recording material. When the oblique movement detecting portion detects the oblique movement of the recording material, the controller increases a feeding interval of the recording material to the image forming portion.
