Provided is a surface protective sheet whereby antifouling properties are enhanced and excellent wiping properties and sliding properties are ensured, the present invention is a surface protective sheet () having a protective film () on a surface of a substrate (). The protective film () is configured from a cured product of a curable composition, the curable composition includes a coating material and a curable resin. The coating material is configured from a reaction product of at least compounds A, B, C and D. Compound A is an acrylic polymer having a hydroxyl group in a side chain thereof, compound B is a diisocyanate, compound C is a polyether polyol, and compound D is a photopolymerizable compound having both a hydroxyl group and a photopolymerizable group. The content of the coating material and the curable resin in the curable composition is preferably 2 parts by mass or more and 40 parts by mass or less of the coating material and 60 parts by mass or more and 98 parts by mass or less of the curable resin when the total amount of the coating material and the curable resin is 100 parts by mass.

At least two or more plastic films are adhered via an adhesive layer or layers to produce a laminate plate having a total thickness of the plastic films of 250 to 700 &#x3bc;m, and then the laminate plate is subjected to die cutting to obtain a surface protection plate. The thickness of each plastic film is preferably chosen to be 50 to 400 &#x3bc;m. A surface protection plate having superior rigidity can be thereby easily produced with a smaller thickness. The thus obtained surface protection platecan be suitably used as the surface protection plateof the liquid crystal display
