Recommended installation position and posture of a stationary code reader can be proposed to a user to facilitate installation work of the code reader by the user. An installation support device for the stationary code reader acquires camera information including a camera parameter of the code reader, code information to be read, and environment information including a conveying speed of a line, determines required field of view and depth of the code reader required to read a code under an environment specified by the environment information, and determines an installation pattern which is recommended installation position and posture of the code reader that can satisfy the required field of view and depth based on the camera information and the code information.

Installation support device and installation support method for stationary code reader

The optical information reader includes an imaging part configured to capture a plurality of images at predetermined timing until code reading results in success or a reading process times out, and an output part configured to output information on timing at which the optical information reader receives the trigger signal, success or failure information on code reading, and the plurality of images captured by the imaging part, and success or failure information representing whether the reading process performed by a decoder results in success or failure and the plurality of images captured in response to the trigger signal are associated with the trigger signal, and, with a list of reading results corresponding to a plurality of the trigger signals displayed on a display part.

A sufficient decoding processing time for each image acquired by performing high-speed imaging is secured to obtain a stable reading result, thereby enabling immediate output of the obtained reading result. A processing unit has a first core and a plurality of second cores. The first core instructs the second cores, presumed to be capable of immediately executing the decoding process or executing the decoding process next to a decoding process being currently executed, to execute the decoding process. Provided is an optical information reading device that can reduce an installation load on a user, and can accurately read a code provided to each of various workpieces. A polarized illumination light source includes light emitters that irradiate the workpiece with illumination light through a polarization filter. A non-polarized illumination light source includes light emitters that irradiate the workpiece with illumination light without through a polarization filter. An imaging element is provided with a polarization filter having a polarization direction different from a polarization direction of the polarization filter of the light emitters. [Means to solve the problems] An upper limit of an exposure time of an imaging part as a restriction condition for reading a code attached to a workpiece is calculated based on a moving speed of the workpiece, which is inputted by an input part, and a cell size, which is calculated by a cell size calculation part. An exposure time of the imaging part is set within the restriction condition by analyzing a plurality of images, which includes a code and is obtained by taking images multiple times by changing the exposure time of the imaging part.

[Object] To enhance a reading accuracy of a code even when a light amount, which can be received by an imaging element, varies greatly. [Means to solve the problems] A plurality of second images in response to a plurality of different conversion characteristics is generated by using the first image obtained at the time of setting of an optical information reading device. The results, in which codes included in the generated second images are respectively decoded by a decoding part, are analyzed, and one of the conversion characteristics is selected. The second image in response to the selected conversion characteristic is generated by using the first image at the time of operation of the optical information reading device.

Provided is an optical information reading device that displays, as an image, information that can be conveniently checked in setting work and in maintenance work. A decoding unit decodes image data acquired by an imaging element, and an arithmetic operation unit arithmetically operates a matching level indicating easiness of the decoding of a code, stability of the decoding, a margin of the decoding or pixel-per-cell in the decoding unit. Furthermore, a UI management unit and an image display device display, as an image, at least one of the matching level, the image data acquired by the imaging element, and an average success rate (reading success rate) of the decoding obtained by decoding a plurality of pieces of image data obtained by capturing an image of the code a plurality of times.
