A control device for a hybrid vehicle having an engine and a motor as driving sources for the vehicle, and when decelerating, the control device stops the fuel supply to the engine and generates energy by regenerative braking. The engine is a cylinder pause-type engine which is capable of switching between the all-cylinder driving state in which all of cylinders are operating, and a cylinder paused driving state in which all of the cylinders are paused, and the control device of the hybrid vehicle comprises a cylinder pause state determination device for determining whether the engine is in the all cylinder driving state or in a cylinder paused driving state and a regeneration amount supplementing device for supplementing the regeneration energy by the motor by use of the increment of the regeneration energy obtained during the cylinder pausing operation than that obtained during all cylinder driving state.

Controller of hybrid vehicle

A motor control device for a vehicle having a deceleration deactivatable engine which includes at least one deactivatable cylinder which is deactivated during a deceleration traveling of the vehicle, and which is started by a motor when the operation thereof transitions from a deceleration deactivation operation to a normal operation. The motor control device comprises a cylinder deactivation state determining section (S) for determining whether or not the engine is in a cylinder deactivation state, a cylinder deactivation executing section, a cylinder deactivation operation detecting section (S) for detecting whether or not the cylinder deactivation executing section is activated, and a starting torque setting section (S-S) for setting staring torque for starting the engine by the motor. When it is determined, by the cylinder deactivation state determining section, that the engine is in a cylinder deactivation state, and it is determined, by the cylinder deactivation operation detecting section, that the engine is to return to the fuel supply operation, the starting torque setting section sets a smaller staring torque than in the case of a normal operation. Accordingly, the output of the motor is optimally set when the operation transitions from the cylinder deactivation operation to the normal operation; thus, a smooth drivability and an improved fuel consumption efficiency can be obtained.

Motor controller of deceleration idling-cylinder engine vehicle

A control device for a hybrid vehicle which enables an improvement in fuel consumption by means of a cylinder deactivation operation while maintaining brake performance. The hybrid vehicle has an engine (E) and a motor (M) for outputting power for driving the vehicle, wherein a regenerative brake is used during deceleration traveling of the vehicle in accordance with a deceleration state thereof, and the engine (E) includes at least one deactivatable cylinder which is deactivatable during deceleration traveling of the vehicle. The control apparatus includes: a speed limiter for decreasing the driving force produced by the motor when the vehicle speed exceeds a first threshold value while the engine and the motor produce the driving force; a generation starter for starting generation by the motor when the vehicle speed exceeds a second threshold value which is higher than the first threshold value; and a generation amount setting device for setting the amount of generation, depending on the driving conditions of the vehicle, when the generation starter starts the generation. The motor generates the electric energy, depending on the amount of generation set by the generation amount setting device.

An engine automatic start stop control apparatus for controlling an engine of a vehicle to be automatically stopped or started in response to driving conditions of a vehicle, which is equipped with a manual transmission, an automatic transmission or a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The apparatus makes a determination whether or not to allow stop (or idle stop) of the engine in consideration of a relationship between outside air temperature and engine water temperature. This prevents a catalyst from being deteriorated in performance as a result of a temperature reduction of the catalyst occurs when the engine idling is carelessly stopped. Thus, it is possible to effectively reduce discharge gas of the vehicle. The outside air temperature can be estimated based on intake air temperature which is detected after the vehicle runs for a prescribed time. The idle stop of the engine is inhibited in response to a request from an air conditioner or to avoid cool-down of the engine to be restarted. In addition, the idle stop of the engine is allowed or inhibited in consideration of remaining battery charge, particularly in the case of a hybrid vehicle which is equipped with a motor/generator in addition to the engine. The engine is automatically restarted to avoid unwanted reduction of the remaining battery charge.

Engine automatic start stop control apparatus

A control apparatus for a hybrid vehicle that can improve the fuel consumption ratio while providing a good drivability is provided. It is determined whether the temperature of a catalyst in an exhaust system is equal to or below a predetermined temperature, and if this condition is satisfied, a Wide Open Throttle determination degree of throttle opening value for determining whether to carry out the Wide Open Throttle control is looked up in a table. Next, it is determined whether a degree of throttle opening is above the Wide Open Throttle determination degree of throttle opening value, and if this condition is satisfied, it is determined whether a remaining battery charge is equal to or above one within the normal use region. If this condition is satisfied, it is determined whether the value of a subtraction timer is zero, and if it is not zero the increase in the amount of fuel is prohibited.

The present invention increases the frequency of the LAF sensor deterioration determination in the case that air-fuel ratio control is being carried out while the deterioration of the LAF sensor is being monitored. When the monitor conditions are no longer satisfied during the deterioration determination of the LAF sensor (as shown in (a) and (b) of FIG. ), the LAF prohibition timer is operated (as shown in (c) of FIG. ), and switching to a lean burn is prohibited for a predetermined time interval (for example, 7 seconds), and in addition, after the LAF sensor deterioration determination has completed, after passage of a time interval shorter than this predetermined time interval (for example, 2 seconds) (as shown in figures (c) and (d) of FIG. ), a lean burn is permitted. Thereby, in the case that monitor conditions are no longer satisfied during monitoring, because the lean burn is prohibited, unlike conventional technology, there is no immediate switch to a lean burn, and therefore, the frequency of the deterioration determination of the LAF sensor can be increased.
