A power supply control apparatus includes a first adder configured to generate a difference signal based on a target value and a feedback signal; a compensator having a first transfer function Wc(z) and configured to generate a control signal based on the difference signal; a control target having a second transfer function Wp(z) and configured to output an output signal generated in response to the control signal; a disturbance canceller having a third transfer function {l+Wc(z)&#xb7;Wp(z)}/{Wc(z)&#xb7;Wp(z)} and configured to generate a disturbance cancelling signal based on the output signal corresponding to a control amount y; a second adder configured to generate a differential disturbance signal based on an output of the first adder and the disturbance cancelling signal; and a filter circuit which generates the feedback signal based on the differential disturbance signal.

A power supply control method of performing a feedback control of an output voltage based on a deviation signal for a standard voltage value serving as a target value for the output voltage and a digital signal generated by analog/digital (A/D) conversion of the output voltage, the method includes selecting a range of the reference voltage for the A/D conversion based on the digital signal in a power supply startup period, and selecting a range of the reference voltage for the A/D conversion based on the deviation signal or a signal corresponding to the deviation signal in a steady state period.

A power supply controller includes a switching circuit which, in response to a control signal, transfers an analog signal to an output node as an outputted analog signal, the output node being coupled to an inductor and a capacitor, an analog to digital (A/D) converter which converts an outputted analog signal to a digital signal, a pulse width modulation (PWM) generator circuit which produces a PWM signal based on the digital signal, a driver which produces the control signal in response to the PWM signal, and a conversion range setting unit which sets a range data for the A/D converter based on the digital signal during a first period, and which sets the range data based on the PWM signal during a second period.

A control device includes a first terminal receiving a monitored output voltage and a second terminal transmitting a pulse width modulation (PWM) signal. A converting unit generates an A/D conversion synchronous signal, and an A/D converter samples the monitored output voltage in accordance with the A/D conversion synchronous signal. A pulse oscillator controls a position of a first edge on the PWM signal in accordance with the A/D conversion synchronous signal, and controls a position of a second edge based on the monitored voltage.

A power supply controller includes an analog to digital (A/D) converter that performs analog-digital conversion of an output voltage and outputs a digital signal, a deviation signal generator unit that generates a deviation signal from the digital signal and a standard voltage value serving as an output voltage target value, and a power controller unit that controls the output voltage based on the deviation signal. The power supply controller includes a conversion range setting unit that sets a range of the reference voltage into the A/D converter based on a first signal as the digital signal in a power supply startup period, and sets the reference voltage range into the A/D converter based on a second signal as the deviation signal or as a signal corresponding to the deviation signal in a steady state period.

A pulse width modulation (PWM) controller includes: a first counter for counting a reference clock signal, and thus outputting a first count value, a leading edge control signal generator for outputting a leading edge control signal on a basis of the first count value, an adjustment clock generator for generating an adjustment clock signal, a second counter controller for instructing the adjustment clock generator to start to output the adjustment clock signal, a second counter for outputting a second count value, a trailing edge control signal generator for outputting a trailing edge control signal on a basis of the second count value, and a PWM pulse generator for synthesizing the leading edge control signal and the trailing edge control signal, and thus generating a pulse width modulation signal.

Pulse width modulation controller and pulse waveform control method

Control accuracy with regard to variation of output voltage is improved. A direct current converter unit () that steps up or steps down an input voltage (Vin) to be outputted, and a control unit () that controls output voltage (Vout) of the direct current converter unit () by a pulse width modulation signal (Sw) are provided; the direct current converter unit () is provided with a voltage detection circuit () that monitors the output voltage (Vout); the control unit () is provided with an A/D converter () that samples a monitored voltage value (Vd) of the voltage detection circuit (); and a pulse oscillator () that controls the position of one edge by an A/D conversion synchronous signal (Ss) indicating the start of sampling by the A/D converter (), and generates the pulse width modulation signal (Sw), which controls the position of the other edge based on the monitored voltage value (Vd).

A power controller includes a digital control circuit which performs a digital control on a basis of a difference between an output voltage supplied to a power control target device and a voltage reference, so that the output voltage is equal to the voltage reference, and a processor control circuit which conducts an operation of a processor in the digital control circuit, in response to a change of a control signal supplied by the power control target device and indicating a state of a load in the power control target device, which monitors an output from the digital control circuit, and which stops the operation of the processor when the load is judged to have no change.

Disclosed is a semiconductor device comprising a lead frame which includes a metal layer forming an outer lead, a thin metal layer forming an inner lead, an intermediate layer held between the thick metal layer and the thin metal layer for forming a connection portion between the outer lead and the inner lead and a bump positioned at the extreme end of the lead frame, whereby making the lead frame as an electrode leading means by directly connecting the bump to each electrode of a semiconductor element, wherein the lead formed of the thick metal layer has a thickness of 30 to 300 .mu.m, the lead formed of the thin metal layer has a thickness of 10 to 50 .mu.m, and the bump has thickness of 5 to 50 .mu.m.
