In a multicolor electrostatic recording apparatus in which two or more different color toner images are superimposed by respective electrostatic recording units, each of the electrostatic recording units includes an electrostatic latent image carried, a developer for developing an electrostatic latent image formed on the carrier with a color toner, and a detector for detecting a density of the developed image on the basis of a detecting mark which is formed on the carrier as a part of the latent image and developed by the developer. A discriminator which compares the density data with an optional desired density value to discriminate whether the density data falls in an allowable range. A controller for feed-back controlling at least one parameter for determining the density of the developed image so that the density comes to be in the allowable range, when the density falls out of the allowable range. The at least one parameter is memorized as a compensating data for the density of the developed image, when the density falls in the allowable range. Thus, using the compensating data, a process using the parameter for determining the density of the developed image is carried out. The detector for detecting density includes a light emitting section and a light receiving unit.

Multicolor electrostatic recording appartus having electrostatic

A plurality of electrostatic recording units are arranged in series along a path for moving a recording sheet of paper, and charged toner images having different colors are formed on the sheet of paper travelled through the path. A paper feeder unit is arranged beneath a paper introduction side of the paper moving path. The sheet of paper carrying the toner image formed thereon is ejected from a paper ejection side of the paper moving path, and is sent to a fixer in which the toner image is fixed on the sheet of paper. The sheet of paper carrying the toner image fixed thereon is sent to a paper receiver tray positioned above the fixer.

Multicolor image forming apparatus

A color printer inludes an ink ribbon supporting frame mounted on a base unit swingingly about an axis parallel to a platen. A ribbon cassette comprises a cassette case for accommodating a color ink ribbon which has a plurality of different color longitudinal stripes so that at least a part of the ink ribbon forms a loop exposed from and extending to the cassette case. The ribbon loop is positioned along the platen and between a printing head and the platen, when the ribbon cassette is set on the ribbon frame. A ribbon guide is slidably mounted on a carrier for supporting the ink ribbon at a position adjacent to the printing head. The ribbon frame and ribbon guide are simultaneously shifted so that a desired one of color stripes of the ink ribbon is positioned on a predetermined printing line.
