The present invention provides a method for preparing a sample characterized by binding a substance A containing a hydrazide group to a sugar chain and/or a sugar derivative via hydrazone formation between the hydrazide group of the substance A and the reducing end of the sugar chain and/or the sugar derivative thereby to enable the separation and purification of the sugar chain and/or the sugar derivative for an analytical sample from a biological sample containing the sugar chain and/or the sugar derivative by a simple operation.

Sugar chain-capturing substance and use thereof

A sugar chain array containing a sugar chain immobilized thereon for detecting binding between an analyte and a sugar chain, and a sugar chain array having the sugar chain immobilized thereon that is capable of inhibiting non-specific adsorption and binding of an analyte without having to coat the array with an adsorption inhibitor. A specific sugar chain is immobilized on the array, and is useful for detecting binding between the sugar chain and an analyte, such as a pathogen of an infectious disease or an excretion thereof. In addition, in the array, when a base material is coated with a polymeric compound having a unit having a primary amino group, a unit for maintaining hydrophilicity, and a unit having a hydrophobic group, the sugar chain is immobilized efficiently and non-specific adsorption and binding of the analyte can be effectively inhibited.

An object of the present invention is to provide a simple method for fluorescent labeling of sugar chains, and a sugar chain capturing carrier used therein. According to the present invention, a sugar chain fluorescent labeling method is provided in which sugar chains are captured, recovered and purified by primary amino groups in a sugar chain capturing carrier having the primary amino groups that is used to capture sugar chains, and the captured sugar chains are released from the carrier and then labeled with a fluorescent substance including aromatic amine at a concentration of 0.5 mol/L or more.
