Provided is a method for producing a diol represented by Formula (1), the method including using water as a solvent to carry out a cyclodehydration reaction of a 1,4-cyclohexanedione derivative represented by Formula (2) with a triol represented by Formula (3) to produce a diol represented by Formula (1). In Formula (1), Rand Reach independently denote a hydrocarbon group, and Reach independently denotes a hydrogen atom, a heteroatom-containing group, a halogen atom-containing group, a linear alkyl group having from 1 to 6 carbon atoms, a branched alkyl group having from 3 to 6 carbon atoms, or a group including an aryl group and having from 6 to 12 carbon atoms.

The present invention relates to a diacrylate compound represented by general formula (1), a composition thereof, and a cured product of the compound/composition.  In the formula, R denotes a hydrogen atom or a methyl group; R, R, R, and Reach independently denote a Clinear or branched alkyl group, with the proviso that R, R, R, and Rare not all methyl groups. The present invention provides: a novel diacrylate compound which can provide a cured product having an excellent balance of physical properties such as low curing shrinkage, flexibility, resistance to bending, and low curling properties, and which can be used as a photo- or thermal-radical polymerizable monomer; a composition of the compound; and a cured product of the compound/composition.

The present invention relates to a limited composition containing a diacrylate compound represented by general formula (1).  In the formula, R denotes a hydrogen atom or a methyl group. The present invention provides a diacrylate-compound-containing composition which provides a cured product having excellent physical properties such as low curing shrinkage, flexibility, resistance to bending, and low curling properties, and which can be used as a photo- or thermal-radical polymerizable composition and a cured product of the composition.

Polyol-ether compound and method for producing the same

A safe and stable production method of a hydrogenated polymer having high transparency, which is a production method of a hydrogenated polymer by hydrogenating aromatic rings of an aromatic vinyl compound-(meth)acrylate copolymer, in which (1) a solvent solution of the copolymer is added to a reactor, which has a solvent and a supported palladium catalyst charged therein, under a hydrogen atmosphere at a rate of from 0.01 to 15 g/hour in terms of the copolymer per unit mass (g) of the supported palladium catalyst, thereby performing hydrogenation reaction, and then such an operation is performed repeatedly that (2) a hydrogenated polymer is obtained from 30 to 90% by mass of the resulting reaction mixed solution, and a fresh solvent solution of the copolymer is added to the reactor, in which the residual reaction mixed solution is left, or to which the residual reaction mixed solution is returned, at a rate of from 0.01 to 15 g/hour in terms of the copolymer per unit mass (g) of the supported palladium catalyst, thereby performing hydrogenation reaction.

Process for production of nucleus-hydrogenated aromatic vinyl/(meth)acrylate copolymers

A process for producing a hydrogenated polymer, which includes a step of hydrogenating aromatic rings of an aromatic vinyl compound&#x2014;(meth)acrylate copolymer. In the process, the copolymer having a ratio, A/B, of from 0.25 to 4.0 (A is a molar number of constitutional units derived from the (meth)acrylate monomer, and B is a molar number of constitutional units derived from the aromatic vinyl monomer) is hydrogenated in a solvent in the presence of a catalyst which is composed of zirconium oxide supporting palladium. By the process, a highly transparent, hydrogenated polymer is stably and rapidly produced for a long period of time or repeatedly.
