A clutch apparatus is provided which includes a center clutch and a pressure clutch that can hold a clutch plate without falling off of the clutch plate and also prevent a reduction in strength. A clutch apparatusincludes a center clutchand a pressure clutch, which hold clutch platesplaced facing friction platesthat are rotationally driven by a driving shaft. The center clutchincludes a center-side mating portionmating with internal teeth of the clutch plate. In addition, the center-side mating portionincludes a protruding tooth. The pressure clutchincludes a pressure-side mating portionmating with internal teeth of the clutch plate. In addition, the pressure-side mating portionincludes a run-off. The protruding toothextends over the run-offof the pressure-side mating portion, as one of spline teeth forming the center-side mating portion

Clutch device

A multiple disc clutch apparatus configured to reduce the drag torque, the sticking torque, and simultaneously the weight of the multiple disc clutch apparatus. The apparatus can comprise substantially annular multiple clutch discs connected to an input-side from an engine; substantially annular multiple clutch plates alternately laminated with the clutch discs and connected to an output-side to a wheel; and frictional members secured on surfaces of the clutch discs opposing the clutch plates and adapted to press-contact with or separate from the clutch plates. A power from the engine can be transmitted to the wheel when the clutch discs and plates are press-contacted with each other; the power transmission being blocked by releasing the press-contacting force; wherein depressions are formed on each clutch plate along its periphery and radially inward therefrom; and wherein a part of the one or more frictional members is positioned within a region of the depressions.

Multiple disc clutch apparatus

A power transmitting apparatus comprising a clutch housing, an input member connected to an engine and mounted thereon, driving-side clutch discs, a clutch member connected to an output member, driven-side clutch discs arranged between the driving-side clutch discs, a pressure member for press-contacting the driving-side clutch discs and the driven-side clutch discs together and for releasing the press-contacting force on them, and a starter, such as a kick-starter, able to apply a rotational force to the output member to start the engine, the power transmitting apparatus adapted to transmit or cut off driving power of the engine inputted to the input member to or from the output member. The power transmitting apparatus can comprise a press-contact assisting cam of an inverse-driving side for increasing the press-contacting force on the driving-side clutch discs and the driven-side clutch discs when rotational force is applied to the output member by the kick starter.
