A torsional vibration damper having improved vibration damping performance. The torsional vibration damper comprising: a pendulum vibration damper that damps pulsation of engine torque by an oscillating motion of an inertia body in response to the pulsation of the torque; and an engagement device that damps the amplitude of the pulsation of the engine torque by a relative rotation of rotary members. The pendulum vibration damper and the engagement device are arranged in order on a transmission route of the torque of the engine from a side at which the engine is disposed.

Torsional vibration damper

A torsional vibration damper that damps torsional vibration effectively in a low-speed range. In the torsional vibration damper, a spring holder is formed by apertures of an input element and an output element, and an elastic member is held in the spring holder. A first moveable range of a planetary element extending from an initial position in a drive direction is wider than a second movable range of the planetary element extending from the initial position in a counter direction.

A torsional vibration damper that a torsional vibration damper having a planetary gear unit, and a manufacturing method of the torsional vibration damper for limiting damages on gears of the planetary gear unit due to dimension errors. In the planetary gear unit, at least one of a sun gear, a ring gear, and a set of planetary gears is/are formed by a press forming method. The gear formed by the press forming method is engaged with the remaining gears in such a manner that a thinner portion of each tooth is individually engaged with a thicker portion of the adjacent teeth of the remaining gears.

Torsional vibration damper and manufacturing method thereof

A torsional vibration damper that can reduce collision noise of an inertia body when a rotary member is stopped, and a control device therefore. In the torsional vibration damper, a rotary member is mounted on an output shaft of an engine such that none of rolling masses is situated within a predetermined angle range above a rotational center axis of the rotary member when the engine is stopped. Therefore, when the engine is stopped, the inertia body will not be supported by only one of the rolling masses situated within the predetermined angle range.

Torsional vibration damper and control device for torsional vibration damper

A torsional vibration damper in which collision noise resulting from collision of a rolling member against a rotary member is reduced. The torsional vibration damper comprises a restriction mechanism that establishes a restriction force in a direction to restrict the relative rotation between the rotary member and the inertia body, when the rolling member centrifugally pushed onto a raceway surface is pushed radially inwardly by the raceway surface toward a radially inner limit position of a guide section.

A torsional vibration damper whose vibration damping performance will not be reduced in a high speed range. In the torsional vibration damper, a planetary gear is oscillated within a first oscillating range when a torsional torque is smaller than a reference torque, and within a second oscillating range when the torsional torque is greater than the reference torque. A torsional vibration damper includes a planetary rotary unit and an elastic body that couples two rotary elements of three rotary elements so that the two rotary elements can rotate relatively to each other. The torsional vibration damper includes a shaft supporting member by which a rotation center axis of at least any one rotary element of the two rotary elements and a rotation center axis of the rotary element other than the planetary rotary unit and the two rotary elements are held on the same axis. The shaft supporting member has a holding section that is disposed in a position between fellow planetary rotary elements and not making contact with the planetary rotary elements and that fits with and thereby suppresses movement of the rotary element other than the planetary rotary unit and the two rotary elements in the axial direction.

A torsional vibration damping device that prevents an increase in an inertial torque due to resonance without reducing a mass of an inertial mass member. A torque of an engine is delivered to a first rotary element of a planetary unit. The torsional vibration damping device damps pulsation of the torque of the engine to be delivered to the transmission by an inertial torque generated by a rotation of the third rotary element resulting from a relative rotation between the first rotary element and the second rotary element caused by the pulsation of the engine torque. The torsional vibration damping device comprises: a connection member rotated integrally with the first rotary element; an intermediate member rotated integrally with the second rotary element; an output member delivering torque to the transmission; a first elastic member connecting the connection member to the intermediate member; and a second elastic member connecting the intermediate member to the output member.

Torsional vibration damping device

A torsional vibration damper in which a noise resulting from collision of an inertia body against a rotary member is reduced. An inertia body is arranged coaxially with the rotary member, and rolling members are interposed between the rotary member and the inertial body to transmit torque of the rotary member to the inertia body. A first clearance between an outer circumference of a rotary member and an inner circumference of the inertia body created when rolling members are centrifugally pushed onto raceway surfaces is identical to or narrower than a second clearance between one of the rolling members situated at a highest level and a bottom surface of a guide section.

An apparatus for controlling an internal combustion engine is provided. An engine includes a compression release mechanism and a fuel injection valve. The compression release mechanism variably controls the opening degree of a valve member, and thereby connects the combustion chamber of the engine with at least one of the intake passage and the exhaust passage in order to release in-cylinder pressure during at least the compression stroke. A controller controls the fuel injection valve to execute coasting with the fuel cut off in which the fuel is cut off under a predetermined condition, and while executing coasting with the fuel cut off, controls the compression release mechanism to increase the opening degree of the valve member of the compression release mechanism as the speed of the engine is higher.

Apparatus for controlling internal combustion engine

A hybrid vehicle having a pendulum damper in which resonance at around an idling speed of an engine can be prevented to improve N.V. performance. The hybrid vehicle comprises an engine and at least one motor. In the hybrid vehicle, a power transmission path is formed between the engine and drive wheels. In the power transmission path, a pendulum damper is disposed to suppress torsional vibrations, and a disconnecting clutch is disposed to selectively interrupt power transmission between the engine and the pendulum damper.

Hybrid vehicle

A torsional vibration damper in which a mass may be fitted easily into a chamber is provided. In the rotary disc, an insertion hole is formed integrally with the chamber. An opening diameter of the insertion hole is larger than an outer diameter of a flange plate of the mass, and an opening width at a boundary between the insertion hole and the chamber is larger than an outer diameter of a trunk of the mass. The retainer comprises a restricting portion that restricts an oscillating range of the mass in the chamber.

A pendulum vibration damper in which a retainer is prevented from being moved or tilted in an axial direction. In the pendulum vibration damper, a restriction member formed on any one of the retainer and an inner face of the casing to be brought into contact to the other one of the retainer and the inner face of the casing when the retainer is moved or tilted in an axial direction of the rotary disc. A clearance between the casing and the rolling mass in the axial direction is shorter than a thickness of the retainer in the axial direction.

Pendulum vibration damper

A vehicle having a valve stop mode control unit configured such that an intake valve and an exhaust valve are stopped in a closed state during rotation of an output shaft, supply of fuel to an engine is stopped, a clutch is made to be in an engaged state, and pistons are driven by rotational forces from driving wheels through the output shaft. When there is a request for valve stop inertial running, a negative pressure is supplied to an intake passage by a vacuum pump.

Control apparatus for vehicle

A preformed article for a cylinder head, includes: a first portion where a first through hole is to be formed from an upper wall portion to a central portion which is a portion, of a bottom wall portion, forming a combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine; and a second portion where a second through hole is to be formed to the central portion from an outer wall portion (for example, the upper wall portion) positioned above an intake port which opens to the central portion. The first portion and the second portion are portions where a cooling water passage is not formed.
