A printing system includes an optical sensor that reads a plurality of order sheets at least selecting images to be printed and printing sheet types, a printing specifying unit that specifies the images and printing sheet types selected by the order sheets on the basis of an output from the optical sensor, a reader that reads image data of the images selected by the order sheets from a recording medium, and a printer that prints the read image data on types of printing paper which correspond to the printing sheet types selected by the order sheets, wherein after the optical sensor reads the order sheets, the printer performs batch printing based on the images and printing sheet types selected by all the order sheets.

Printing system and order-sheet-based batch printing method

An interface, to which a recording medium storing at least one first setting information item is removably attached to a printer. A storage stores hardware specification data. A reader reads out the at least one first setting information item from the recording medium attached to the interface. A register judges whether the at least one read out first setting information item matches with the hardware specification data, and registers the first setting information item which matches with the hardware specification data as at least one second setting information item. A selector selects one of the at least one second setting information item as a print condition.

Printer and print-condition setting method for the same

A job-receiving section receives a job with regard to a first-type image. A job-setting-receiving section receives a command for selecting, with regard to the job of the first-type image to which a second-type image is related, either a merging setting or a non-merging setting. A job-processing section processes the received job. The merging setting is a setting for merging the first-type image and the second-type image, and the non-merging setting is a setting for not merging the first-type image and the second-type image. The job-processing section displays on an output section, with regard to the job of the first-type image to which the second-type image is related, either the first-type image, or a composite image of the large first-type image and the second-type image, in accordance with the command received by the job-setting-receiving section.

Image-processing system, image-processing method, and product of image-processing program for displaying an image individually or as a composite image

An image forming system is provided and includes an access unit, a reductive color processing unit, an order sheet print control unit, a composition unit, and a composite print control unit. The access unit accesses a user image stored in a recording medium, the processing unit forms a background image by reducing a color gamut of the user image, and the order sheet print control unit causes a printer unit to create an order sheet on which the background image is printed in a free rendering area. Also, the composition unit separates an area of a subject recorded by a user in the free rendering area from an image of the free rendering area read by a scan unit based on a color gamut of the background image and superimposing the area of the subject on the user image to thereby form a composite image. Finally, the composite print control unit causes the printer unit to print the composite image. A method that the system performs is also provided.

The object of the invention is to easily and simply output a document including an image in a desired layout. A script generation devicegenerates a script used to control a layout of a printerand transfers the generated script to the printerThe script includes multiple drawing control commands that individually adjust output positions with regard to a plurality of images to be output in a preset output range. The sequence of arrangement of the multiple drawing control commands specifies the overlapping state of the plurality of images. The script of this construction enables the user to readily define and change the overlapping state and thereby attain a desired layout.

Layout control for image output

When a memory card is placed in a printer, a service layer requests a file list manager to create an image information list. When the memory card is removed, the service layer requests the file list manager to discard the image information list. When image data is written onto the memory card by a host computer PC or a scanner function of the printer, when a print command is issued, the service layer requests the file list manager to update the list. When the image data is changed by the scanner, the list is updated; when the image data is changed by the host computer PC, the list is maintained.

Image processing method, image processing apparatus, and print apparatus that uses image data recorded on an image record medium

A recording apparatus, and so forth, capable of outputting at high speed is provided. Second recording data that are stored in a memory based on data obtained by a data obtaining section are transferred to a data generator via a second transfer path, and based on the second recording data that have been transferred, the data generator generates first recording data for performing recording on a medium.

The layout definition file and image file are associated with the print job file.
