A thermal barrier-coated Ni alloy component includes: a substrate made of a Ni alloy containing Al; an intermediate layer formed on a surface of the substrate; and a thermal barrier layer made of a ceramic and formed on a surface of the intermediate layer. The intermediate layer includes a &#x3b3;' layer, which is formed from a &#x3b3;&#x2032;-NiAl phase on the surface on the thermal barrier layer side, and contains Pt.

Thermal barrier-coated Ni alloy component and manufacturing method thereof

Disclosed is a lip seal for water pump made of a rubber-like elastic material, fixed to a housing as a fixed side and in sliding contact with a shaft rotating relative to the housing; the lip seal having sliding surface with a surface roughness Ra (according to JIS B0601 corresponding to ISO 4287) of 1 to 30 &#x3bc;m, being obtained by vulcanization-molding of a rubber composition comprising 100 parts by weight of the rubber-like elastic material, 1 to 150 parts by weight of a reinforcing filler, 5 to 90 parts by weight of a non-reinforcing filler having an average particle diameter of 1 &#x3bc;m or more, 0.1 to 5 parts by weight of a coupling agent, 1 to 15 parts by weight of a co-crosslinking agent, and 0.5 to 10 parts by weight of an organic peroxide. The lip seal effects to prevent softening and volume swelling of the rubber-like elastic material and furthermore the generation of deposits in the rotating shaft, which are problematic for rotation torque and LLC resistance.

A mixed powder of an Ni&#x2014;Al alloy and alumina is produced by heating a first mixed powder, which is prepared by mixing an Ni&#x2014;Al mixed powder as prepared by mixing an Al powder with Ni in such a manner that Al therein could fall within a range of from 25 atomic % to 60 atomic %, and an alumina powder in a range of from 40% by mass to 60% by mass, in vacuum or in an inert gas atmosphere at a temperature falling within a range of from 600&#xb0; C. to 1300&#xb0; C. for at least 1 hour, and then grinding the resulting product.

A lip type seal has a cartridge fitted to an inner periphery of a shaft hole, a first lip seal member, a case, a resin second lip seal member, a backup ring and an adapter, a protrusion section in a partial portion on a circumference is provided in a first flange section of the case to engage with the second lip seal member, whereby the second lip seal member is prevented from whirling with respect to the case and coming off to an inner side in a radial direction, and a projecting section in a partial portion on a circumference is provided in a flange section of the backup ring to engage with the second lip seal member, whereby the second lip seal member is prevented from whirling with respect to the backup ring and coming off to the inner side in the radial direction.

Lip type seal

An iridium-containing nickel-base superalloy which has an orderly arrayed allow structure to be strengthened by precipitation and contains iridium dissolved in the &ggr; and &ggr;&prime; phases to be strengthened by solid solution, thus being improved in high-temperature strength and resistance to high-temperature corrosion. The superalloy can be prepared by adding iridium to a general nickel-base superalloy

Iridium-containing nickel-base superalloy

Refractory superalloys consist essentially of a primary constituent selected from the group consisting of iridium, rhodium, and a mixture thereof, and one or more additive elements selected from the group consisting of niobium, tantalum, hafnium, zirconium, uranium, vanadium, titanium and aluminum, and the superalloys having a microstructure containing an FCC-type crystalline structure phase and an L1.sub.2 -type crystalline structure phase are precipitated. Preferably the amount of additive element(s) is 2 to 22 atom %.
