Based on image data obtained by imaging a state of the preliminary cleaning of an endoscope by manual work, a cleaning status determination unit determines whether or not the preliminary cleaning has been performed on the endoscope. A notification control unit generates notification data regarding the determination result in the cleaning status determination unit and outputs the notification data from the output apparatus. When the cleaning status determination unit identifies a step that has not been properly performed, the notification control unit generates notification data including information regarding the step that has not been properly performed. The notification control unit may generate notification data including image data obtained by imaging the state of the step.

The processor communicate with a terminal device including a transceiver configured to transmit identification information identifying the terminal device, and a controller configured to: determine whether the processor is a connection destination configured to perform two-way communication, based on the received processor identification information, authenticate whether a user of the terminal device is a predetermined registered user by analyzing data obtained by the terminal device from the user, and allow two-way communication between the processor and the terminal device in response to the processor being determined as the connection designation to perform two-way communication and in response to authenticating the user of the terminal device.

An endoscope system includes: a processor configured to perform image processing on endoscopic image data, the processor being connectable with multiple peripherals, the processor being configured to receive an input of a first audio command; a terminal device configured to wirelessly communicate with the processor and receive an input of a second audio command; a setting circuit configured to, in a case where the processor and the terminal device can communicate with each other, make a setting such that the first audio command that is receivable by the processor and the second audio command that is receivable by the terminal device differ from each other at least partly; and a first communication controller configured to, when the first audio command or the second audio command serves as an instruction to record the endoscopic image data, transmit the endoscopic image data to the terminal device.

An endoscope system includes: an image pickup device configured to output a digital signal; an EEPROM in which predetermined information concerning an endoscope is recorded; a signal control portion capable of selectively converting data of one of the digital signal outputted from the image pickup device and the predetermined information of the EEPROM to serial data and outputting the serial data; an electro-optical conversion portion configured to convert the data outputted from the signal control portion to an optical signal and output the optical signal; a universal cable; and a data switching portion switched to transfer the predetermined information from the EEPROM by the signal control portion and then transfer the digital signal by the signal control portion. The signal control portion decides through which of a metal transmitting member and an optical transmitting member the predetermined information is transmitted, based on a data amount of the predetermined information.
