An electronic fuel injection type diesel engine enables reduction in engine size. The electronic fuel injection type diesel engine is provided with: a combustion chamber inside a cylinder; a fuel injection chamber inside a cylinder head; a fuel injector that injects liquid fuel into the fuel injection chamber; a fuel accumulation unit that accumulates the liquid fuel injected from the fuel injector; and an electronic control unit that controls a timing and an amount of injection of the liquid fuel.

Electronic fuel injection type diesel engine

Provided is an exhaust system for an engine in which a fastening force of a fastener hardly decreases. An exhaust system for an engine includes: an exhaust passage component of ferrous metal; and a fastener that fastens the exhaust passage component to other parts, the exhaust passage component including a pressure receiving surface that receives a fastening force of the fastener. The oxide film of triiron tetraoxide is formed on the pressure receiving surface of the exhaust passage component. It is preferable that the oxide film of triiron tetraoxide be also formed on an outer surface other than the pressure receiving surface of the exhaust passage component. It is preferable that the oxide film of triiron tetraoxide be also formed on an inner surface of the exhaust passage component.

Exhaust system for engine

In an engine that includes a blow-by-gas returning system configured to direct blow-by gas within a crankcase to an intake system through an inside of a head cover, the intake system includes a cover intake-passage disposed at a blow-by-gas outlet of the head cover, and the cover intake-passage communicates with a blow-by-gas passage of the blow-by-gas outlet.

Engine that includes blow-by-gas returning system

There is provided an engine stopping device including a stopping solenoid, where an operating shaft, interlocked to a control rack of a fuel injection pump, is rotatably supported by an engine case in a pass-through manner. The control rack is forcibly movable to a stopping position by an action of the stopping solenoid on an operation arm provided for a projecting portion of the operating shaft in an integrally rotatable manner. An extending-retracting rod of the stopping solenoid and the operation arm are interlocked by fitting engagement between a pin provided for the extending-retracting rod and a cut-out portion of the operation arm. The cut-out portion is configured in a shape elongated along a direction perpendicular to a movement trajectory of the extending-retracting rod.

Engine stopping device

An oil cooling structure of an engine is provided that is capable of enhancing cooling performance of oil while preventing an increase in number of components or an increase in required space from being involved as much as possible. In an oil cooling structure of an engine in which a transmission case is attached to one end wall of an engine body, and a transmission mechanism for an accessory drive is provided in the transmission case, the transmission case is formed into a potlid-shaped body having a plurality of rib walls along a front-rear direction, and is attached to an engine front wall with an engine cooling fan, and case inner chamber portions partitioned by the rib walls in the transmission case are configured as a transporting passage of oil circulated by an oil pump.

Oil cooling structure of engine

A cooling structure of a water-cooled engine includes: a plurality of cylindersarranged in a cylinder block; and a water jacket W formed around the plurality of cylinders. The water jacket W includes a pair of main flow pathsformed in a state of extending in a cylinder arrangement direction outside the cylinders, and inter-bore flow pathsformed between adjacent cylindersin a state of connecting the pair of main flow paths. Cooling structure of water-cooled engine

There is provided an engine capable of reducing oil consumption. The engine includes a cylinder head, a cylinder head cover mounted above the cylinder head, a rocker arm covered by the cylinder head cover, and a breather chamber provided inside the cylinder head cover. As a front-rear direction is defined by a longitudinal direction of the cylinder head cover, the breather chamber has a blow-by gas inlet at one side in the front-rear direction, a blow-by gas outlet at another side in the front-rear direction, and an oil discharging guide chamber at an intermediate part in the front-rear direction. The blow-by gas inlet is opened on a bottom wall of the breather chamber, and a peripheral wall of the oil discharging guide chamber is protruded downwardly from the bottom wall of the breather chamber toward between the rocker arm provided at a side of the blow-by gas outlet and the blow-by gas inlet.

Engine

A piston for an engine is provided, that makes it possible to improve supply of engine oil to a recessed part thereof. The piston includes a resin coating film and a recessed part on a surface of a skirt part. In the piston, resin coating films are distributed in a patchy fashion on the surface of the skirt part. The recessed part is formed by the surface of the skirt part, between adjacent surfaces of the patchy resin coating films and by the adjacent resin coating films, forming a net-like groove. An outer-edge resin coating film, extending in a piston movement direction, is provided at the ends, in a piston circumferential direction of the skirt part.

Piston for engine

A piston for an engine includes a skirt part, and a resin coating film and a recess formed on a surface of the skirt part. A plurality of the resin coating films are discretely arranged in spots on the surface of the skirt part, and a mesh-like groove is formed by the recess provided between the resin coating films. The recess formed on the skirt part between the resin coating films adjacent to each other in a piston circumference direction is set to be adjacent to another resin coating film in a piston moving direction. An end part of the resin coating film in the piston moving direction is formed in a concave shape when seen in a piston radius direction.

An engine cooler capable of suppressing a piston slap sound is provided. The engine cooler includes a cylinder block including a cylinder barrel and a water jacket, and a spacer stored in the water jacket, the water jacket surrounds the cylinder barrel, and the spacer encloses the cylinder barrel. Given that a width direction of the cylinder block is a lateral direction, a pressed member is pressed between the cylinder barrel and the spacer on lateral sides of the cylinder barrel, and a lower end of the pressed member is disposed above a lower end of each of right and left skirts of a piston located at a top dead center.

Engine cooler

There is provided an engine water-cooling device that can increase warming-up efficiency of an engine. The engine water-cooling device includes a thermostat housing that houses a thermostat. The thermostat housing is mounted to a front wall of a cylinder head in one side portion in a width direction of the cylinder head. A cooling water pump is mounted to a front wall of a cylinder block in a central portion in a width direction of the cylinder block. A bypass passage includes an intra-head bypass passage in the cylinder head, and the intra-head bypass passage includes a width-direction passage portion extending from a position behind the thermostat housing to a position behind and above the cooling water pump.

Engine water-cooling device

An engine exhaust treatment apparatus, which suppresses thermal damage to an electrothermal ignition apparatus, includes: an exhaust passage; an oxidation catalyst disposed in the exhaust passage; a combustible gas generator; a combustible gas supplying passage; a heat dissipation port opened upstream in the exhaust passage from the oxidation catalyst and in a downstream part of the combustible gas supplying passage, the exhaust passage and the combustible gas supplying passage communicating with each other through the heat dissipation port; and an electrothermal ignition apparatus disposed in the combustible gas supplying passage. Heat of flaming combustion of the combustible gas ignited by the electrothermal ignition apparatus is supplied to the exhaust passage, to raise the temperature of exhaust in the exhaust passage. A heat dissipation plate is attached to an outer projecting portion of the electrothermal ignition apparatus. The outer projecting portion projects outside a wall of the exhaust treatment apparatus.

Exhaust treatment apparatus for engine

A subchamber type combustion chamber for a diesel engine, which reduces fuel consumption rate and combustion noise. To achieve the object, a subchamber type combustion chamber is communicated with a main combustion chamber through a nozzle hole, a fuel injection nozzle faces into the subchamber, and a glow plug extends into the subchamber. A heat generating portion of the glow plug includes a rod-shaped portion and a projecting portion projecting from an end of the rod-shaped portion. The projecting portion is provided with a convex curved surface projecting from a circular peripheral edge at the end of the rod-shaped portion while the convex curved surface is reduced in diameter. The percentage of value P/D obtained by dividing projection dimension P of the projecting portion from the end of the rod-shaped portion by diameter dimension D at the end of the rod-shaped portion is 3% to 23%.

Subchamber type combustion chamber for diesel engine

An engine in which an oil consumption and a leakage of blow-by gas can be stably reduced for a long period of time. The engine includes a first land (), a first ring groove (), a second land (), a second ring groove (), a third land (), a third ring groove (), and a piston skirt () formed on a piston peripheral wall () in the above-recited order from a side of a piston head (). A first pressure ring () is fitted in the first ring groove (). A second pressure ring () is fitted in the second ring groove (), an oil ring () fitted in the third ring groove (), and an indentation () is formed at the second land ().
