A connector with built-in electronic circuit board includes an electronic circuit board for a sensor, the electronic circuit board including a first connection terminal, an inner case housing the electronic circuit board, and an outer case having a chamber housing the inner case. The connector further includes a second connection terminal extending from inside the chamber to outside the outer case, a third connection terminal disposed in the chamber, and a cable connected to the sensor at one end thereof at outside the outer case and connected to the third connection terminal at the other end thereof. The inner case is sealed by resin in a state of the first connection terminal being exposed. The first connection terminal is connected to the second and third connection terminals. The chamber is closed by a lid.

Connector with built-in electronic circuit board and method of manufacturing same

A plasma ignition system includes an ignition plug attached to an engine and having a center electrode, a ground electrode, and a discharge space, a discharge power source circuit, a plasma generation power source circuit, a resistance element between the discharge power source circuit and the center electrode, a rectifying device between the plasma generation power source circuit and the center electrode, and an element receiving portion in a periphery of the center electrode. The plug puts gas in the discharge space into a plasma state to ignite a fuel/air mixture in the engine, as a result of application of high voltage to the plug by the discharge power source circuit and supply of high current to the plug by the plasma generation power source circuit. The resistance element and the rectifying device are placed in the receiving portion.

Plasma ignition system

A plasma ignition system includes an ignition plug attached to an engine and a high-voltage supply. The plug includes a center electrode serving as a positive pole, a ground electrode serving as a negative pole, and an insulating member insulating the center electrode from the ground electrode and defining a discharge space therein. At least a part of a surface of the center electrode faces the space, and at least a part of a surface of the ground electrode faces the discharge space. The plug puts gas in the space into a plasma state and injects the gas into the engine as a result of application of high voltage and supply of a large current to the plug by the high-voltage supply. The center electrode has a recess portion opposed to the space and recessed in a direction opposite to an injection direction.

An ignition coil includes a center core, a secondary coil, a primary coil, and an outer core. The secondary coil and the primary coil are substantially coaxially arranged on the outer circumferential side of the center core. The secondary coil includes a secondary winding that is wound around a secondary spool. The secondary spool has a high voltage bracket that includes a secondary terminal. The primary coil includes a primary winding that is wound around a primary spool. The outer core is arranged on the outer circumferential side in the ignition coil. The secondary terminal includes a first connecting portion, which is in a bulb shape, in the tip end. The first connecting portion connects with an end portion of the secondary winding. The first connecting portion is covered with an electrically insulative resin.

Ignition coil having secondary coil assembly and connecting method for the same

An ignition coil includes a cylindrical portion that includes a primary coil and a secondary coil, which are coaxially wound. The cylindrical portion can be inserted into a plughole of an engine. The cylindrical portion has a tip end in an axial direction thereof. The tip end of the cylindrical portion has a plug mounting hole, into which a sparkplug is mounted. The plug mounting hole accommodates a high voltage terminal, which electrically connects with one of the secondary coil, and a coil spring, which makes contact with the high voltage terminal. The cylindrical portion has a base end portion in one axial end thereof. The base end portion of the cylindrical portion includes at least one flange portion. The at least one flange portion radially outwardly protrudes. The at least one flange portion has multiple bolt insertion holes, through which a bolt is respectively inserted.

Ignition coil having rigid mounting structure

An ignition coil device has a secondary spool, a secondary coil wound around the secondary spool, an insulating resin material that is filled into spaces between the secondary windings, a primary spool, a primary coil wound around the primary spool, a connector that is arranged on one end side in an axial direction of these parts and has a connector terminal electrically connected to the primary coil and the secondary coil, and a resin insulting material for connector that is filled into the connector. The base material of the coil insulating resin material is the same as or different from the base material of the connector insulating resin material.

Ignition coil device and method of manufacturing the same

In order to prevent a driver from feeling strange when he looks at a boundary of illumination between a hot illumination zone and flat illumination zone, a light-grading optical member is provided. A headlight for a vehicle includes a fiberoptic cable and a lamp member for forming incident light beams into a desired illumination profile to illuminate portions in front of the vehicle. The lamp member is composed of a light conducting member to define the profile of the illumination by introducing the light beams from the fiberoptic cable, a first lens member for forming the hot illumination zone and a second lens member for forming the flat illumination zone. The optical member or means for refracting a portion of the light beams is formed on a periphery of the first lens member or on a periphery of the light conducting member, whereby a difference in brightness between the hot and flat illumination zones is reduced.

Headlight for vehicle

In an illuminating device for vehicles in which a light conductor made of light transmissive material having a predetermined light refractive index is placed between an outgoing light end of an optical cable and an incident light end of a lens body. The light conductor is shaped so as to cover the whole surface of the outgoing light end of the optical cable practically as well as to have an outgoing light surface shaped suitable for defining an illumination pattern. The lens body has the incident light end shaped to cover satisfactorily the outgoing light surface of the light conductor. Thus, the luminous flux from the outgoing light surface is emitted forward based on its shape as luminous flux of the desired light distribution without the waste of the luminous flux.

Illuminating device for vehicles

Visibility of a distant area illuminated by a headlamp of a vehicle having a centralized light source type is improved. The headlamp for the vehicle include a light source, an optical cable emitting an incident light from the light source, lens bodies forming the incident light from the optical cable into a desired light distribution and irradiating the incident light ahead of the vehicle. The lens bodies have lens-shaped outgoing light surfaces where focal points are located in the vicinity of the incident light surfaces of the lens bodies, and the lens bodies have reflective surfaces R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 reflecting the incident light toward an outgoing light surfaces. The light axis X of the optical cable is tilted by a predetermined angle .alpha. with respect to the reflective surfaces R.sub.1 and R.sub.2.

Headlamp for a vehicle

A wide-ranged hot zone light distribution is obtained by using one hot zone light distribution lens in a simple construction. The hot zone light distribution lens has a first light reflection surface forming roughly a vertical surface and a second light reflection surface adjacent to the first reflection surface forming a line as a border at the top edge of the reflection surface in a projection direction. A hot zone light distribution includes at least a first range formed by a direct light projected from an optical fiber without being reflected on the first and second reflection surfaces, a second range formed by a reflected light projected after being reflected on the first reflection surface, and a third range formed by a reflected light projected after being reflected on the second reflection surface. The first and the second ranges are extended toward right and left directions from a horizontal center in the light distribution. The first range has a top end increasing its height toward an outside.

Automotive illuminating device

A lighting device for a vehicle includes an optical fiber having a light emitting end. A reflecting plate extends frontward of the light emitting end of the optical fiber, and separates a region frontward of the light emitting end of the optical fiber into first and second sub regions. The reflecting plate serves to reflect a portion of light emitted from the light emitting end of the optical fiber. An optical member is located at one of the first and second sub regions. The optical member is separate from the light emitting end of the optical fiber. The optical member serves to act on light emitted from the light emitting end of the optical fiber and light reflected by the reflecting plate.

Lighting device for vehicle

A lens member for a flat zone illumination of a headlight has a light incident surface which receives light beams introduced from a centralized light source through a fiberoptic cable, a light emitting surface which has a cylindrical lens portion for irradiating the light beams in front of a car and a curved light conducting portion between the surfaces which has total reflecting surfaces on the peripheries thereof. The light emitting surface is formed to slightly incline with respect to a light axis of a hot zone lens member so that the light beams are refracted in parallel with the light beams for the hot zone illumination when they are emitted from the surface and increase the brightness of the flat zone illumination.

An illuminating device for a vehicle head lamp which defines a clear cut line of light distribution pattern. The light from a light source is transmitted through an optical fibre and is incident to a light conducting path lens from the optical fibre in a predetermined pattern defined by a shade. The light conducting path lens condenses and irradiates at an outgoing plane the light from a light incident plane. Thus, light distribution pattern is defined by the shape of the shade and the optical characteristics of the light conducting path lens. An end section of the shade defines an upper cut line, particularly at an opposite lane side, of the light distribution pattern. The shade is provided coincidentally with an optical axis of the outgoing plane of the light conducting path lens. Thus, the upper cut line of the light distribution pattern at the side of the opposite lane side is defined clearly and, hence, a wide illuminating range extending to the opposite lane can be provided without causing glare to drivers of vehicles on the opposite lane.

Illuminating device

It is an object of the present invention to provide a lighting device for vehicles which does not irradiate any dazzling rays of light to oncoming vehicles. According to the present invention, a lighting device for vehicles for irradiating rays of light forward vehicle with a predetermined light distribution comprises light transmitting means, one end of which is disposed at light source, for transmitting rays of light of the light source from the one end to the other end, and lens means, a rear of which is disposed close to the other end of the light transmitting means, for irradiating rays of light forward vehicle from front side thereof, the lens means comprises a first lens, a rear of which is close to one end of the other end of the light transmitting means, a second lens, a rear of which is close to the other end of the other end of the light transmitting means, having a light distribution which is different from that of the first lens, and a spacer defining a gap between the first lens and the second lens so as to form a reflecting layer.

Lighting device for vehicles

A lighting device for use in a vehicle which has a lighting unit for receiving light from a light source and emitting the received light. The lighting unit is provided with an optical fiber for receiving light from the light source and emitting the received light and an optical waveguide directly connected to the optical fiber for directly receiving the light emitted from the optical fiber and emitting light which has a desired luminous intensity distribution. Thereby, the lighting unit can have a simple structure and can be provided at low cost.
