An assay chip includes fluidic-channel member composed of a light-transmissive lower member and an upper member, forming a fluidic-channel therebetween, and a cover member fitted with the fluidic-channel member from the upper-member-side thereof. An inlet for injecting a sample solution into the fluidic-channel and a suction opening for sucking, from the downstream side, the injected sample solution, both communicating with the fluidic-channel, are formed on the upper surface of the upper member. A pot for carrying out predetermined pre-processing on the sample solution, a pot for first-reaction processing to bind a photoresponsive labeling substance to an analyte in the sample solution, an inlet insertion-hole for inserting the inlet, and a suction-opening insertion-hole for inserting the suction opening are linearly arranged on the upper surface of the cover member.

Assay chip

It is an object of the present invention to provide a measurement kit for developing a first developing solution and a second developing solution from different directions to suppress background noise, and an immunochromatography kit. The present invention provides a measurement kit, which comprises a first developing member for supplying a first developing solution and a second developing member for supplying a second developing solution, wherein the developing direction of the first developing solution is allowed to intersect with the developing direction of the second developing solution, so that development is carried out by developing the first and second developing solutions in different developing directions, and a water absorbent portion is established on the downstream of each of the developing directions.

Measurement kit and an immunochromatography method

The present invention provides an immunochromatographic device, which contains the following (a) and (b): (a) a first device part holding a first insoluble carrier used for developing a complex formed with an analyte and a labeling substance comprising a metal labeled with a first binding substance that can bind to the analyte and capturing the analyte and the labeling substance at a reaction portion containing a second binding substance that can bind to the analyte, and (b) a second device part holding a second insoluble carrier used for developing a liquid and a third insoluble carrier used for absorbing a liquid, in such a way that the first insoluble carrier does not come into contact with the second insoluble carrier and the third insoluble carrier.

Immunochromatographic device

A device for assay can evenly develop solution, and performs highly accurate and sensitive measurement. A first device part () maintains a second insoluble carrier () and a third insoluble carrier () in such a manner that they overlap with each other at a detection portion () of a first insoluble carrier (). These three carriers (), () and () are housed not in contact with each other. A pressing unit () having a pressing surface () that is parallel to the detection portion () is provided on an inner surface of the second device part () facing the detection portion (). The pressing surface () is displaced by being pressed toward the detection portion (), and presses, from the upper side of the first insoluble carrier (), the second insoluble carrier () and the third insoluble carrier () onto the first insoluble carrier (). The first device part () and the second device part () are joined together.

Method and device for assay

It is a microfluidic device including a flowchannel in which liquid flows. The flowchannel includes a main channel and a pair of branch channels provided across the main channel from each other to be each connected to the main channel. The main channel includes a first zone, a second zone, and a coupling zone that connects the first zone and the second zone. The second zone is smaller than the first zone in a distance between a bottom surface and a ceiling surface. The coupling zone is configured such that the distance between the bottom surface and the ceiling surface thereof gradually decreases towards the second zone from the first zone. A connection zone provided in the main channel and connected to each of the pair of branch channels overlaps with the coupling zone.

A reaction method of performing an adsorption reaction in which a subject substance of analysis is specifically adsorbed in a first channel, the method includes: flowing a specimen liquid to a second channel connected to the first channel so that the specimen liquid is fed to the first channel, the specimen liquid containing the subject substance and a labeled substance that can be bonded to the subject substance; stopping feeding of the specimen liquid by detecting an event that a rear end of the specimen liquid flows into the first channel; joining a washing liquid to the rear end of the specimen liquid which stops in the first channel by flowing the washing liquid to a third channel that is converged to a connection portion of the second channel; and feeding the washing liquid to the first channel after the washing liquid is joined to the rear end.

Reaction method and reaction apparatus

An object of the present invention is to provide a microchip whereby, when chemical analysis is conducted, a specimen liquid can be directly collected and weighed without using any collecting and weighing devices. The present invention provides a microchip for analyzing liquid samples, which has a measuring structure for weighing and collecting a given amount of a specimen liquid within a range of 0.05 to 10 &#x3bc;l from an excessive amount of the specimen liquid which was introduced in the chip, wherein the measuring structure is located at the upstream side of an analysis element for analyzing a target substance in the specimen liquid inside the microchip.

A preform () having a clad part of PVDF and a core part of PMMA is manufactured. The preform () is partially heated in a heating furnace () of 240&#xb0; C. The preform () is subject to the melt-drawing process to form a plastic optical fiber (). The drawing tension to the preform () is measured by use of a drawing tension measure device (). Based on the measured value, a drawing roller pair () adjusts the drawing tension to be 3.8 MPa. The plastic optical fiber () is fed via a dancer roller () and rollers () toward a bobbin () to wind the plastic optical fiber (). A winding tension measure device () measures the winding tension to the POF (). Based on the measured value, the dancer roller () changes its position to adjust the winding tension to be 2.5 MPa.

Plastic optical fiber and method for manufacturing the same

When any of facilities of a film producing and packaging system suffers a failure, a film processing controller shuts off the film producing and packaging system. The operator repairs a failing facility and manually discharges a length of an elongate film which may possibly be defective. After the failing facility is repaired, the film processing controller is restarted to operate the film producing and packaging system, which then automatically discharges a length of the elongate film corresponding to a preset number of sized films. It is possible to easily and quickly discard a portion of the elongate film which has been made defective by the facility failure.

Method of and apparatus for processing photographic photosensitive film

An apparatus for processing a film has a cutting mechanism for cutting an elongate film, first and second feed mechanisms disposed on respective opposite sides of the cutting mechanism, an inserting mechanism for inserting an end of the film into a spool, and a cam switching mechanism for changing the timing of operation of the cutting mechanism depending on sized films having various different lengths. The sized films having various different lengths can automatically and easily be inserted into spools with a simple arrangement.
