A storage control apparatus includes a processor that creates a snapshot of a first volume of a storage device. The processor deduplicates unupdated data among data of the first volume. The processor compresses the deduplicated data to create compressed data. The processor stores the compressed data in a second volume of the storage device. The processor selects, when the snapshot is created for two or more generations, the second volume corresponding to each of a plurality of snapshots of generations earlier than a predetermined generation. The processor detects unpopular data from the compressed data existing in the selected second volume based on a reference count. The processor collects and decompresses detected pieces of the unpopular data when the number of the detected pieces of the unpopular data is equal to or more than a predetermined threshold value. The processor combines and recompresses the decompressed data to create recompressed data.

When the capacity of a buffer region runs short, storing a first generation data set, a second generation data set, and a third generation data set, a control unit selects the first generation data set as a designated data set. A multilayer ceramic capacitor is produced by using a dielectric ceramic composition prepared by allowing a composition represented by the composition formula (Ba.sub.1-x Ca.sub.x)TiO.sub.3 (provided that 0.005.ltoreq.x.ltoreq.0.05), namely, 0.5-5 mol % to contain an additive of MnO--CoO--MgO at 0.2 to 2 mol % and a Y.sub.2 O.sub.3 additive at 2.5 mol % or less and further adding a glass component comprising SiO.sub.2 --Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 --BaO--CaO--Ta.sub.2 O.sub.5 at 0.5 to 5 mol % to the resulting composition. The dielectric ceramic composition can be prepared into slurry well by using an aqueous binder and can be sintered well with no occurrence of any crack even by fast firing, and even after barrel treatment, additionally, chipping hardly occurs in the dielectric ceramic composition. Accordingly, the resulting multilayer ceramic capacitor exerts an excellent breakdown voltage even at a large size and can therefore satisfy the JIS B characteristic.

A ceramic capacitor includes at least two opposing electrodes, and a dielectric ceramic composition arranged between the electrodes, wherein the ceramic composition is represented by a formula (Pb.sub.1-x Ae.sub.x) (Zr.sub.1-y Ti.sub.y)O.sub.3 (wherein x represents 0.15 to 0.90, y represents 0 to 0.80, and Ae represents at least one type of an element selected from the group consisting of Ca and Sr), and has a composition in which assuming that the total number of moles of elements constituting a site A consisting of Pb and Ae is (A) and that the total number of moles of elements constituting a site B consisting of Zr and Ti is (B), (A)/(B) is 1.00 or less. The site A of the dielectric ceramic composition may be partially substituted with Ba. The dielectric ceramic composition may be obtained by adding Nb, Cu, Bi, Mn, Co, Ag, Si, Ta, Mg, Zn, W and/or Ni to a composition which is represented by a formula (Pb.sub.1-x Ae.sub.x) (Zr.sub.1-y Ti.sub.y)O.sub.3 (wherein x represents 0.15 to 0.90, y represents 0 to 0.80, and Ae represents at least one type of an element selected from the group consisting of Ca, Sr, and Ba), and in which assuming that the total number of moles of elements constituting a site A consisting of Pb and Ae is (A) and that the total number of moles of elements constituting a site B consisting of Zr and Ti is (B), (A)/(B) is 1.00 or less. The dielectric ceramic composition is preferably formed by using a powder synthesized by a hydrothermal synthesis as a material, and its grain size is preferably 3 .mu.m or less.

Ceramic capacitor

A high-dielectric constant ceramic composite is provided in which an appropriate amount of glass component is added to a composite of the BaTiO.sub.3 -PbMO.sub.3 group having a low temperature coefficient in the dielectric constant thereof. The added glass component serves to maintain the satisfactory properties of the ceramic composite even after various types of reliability tests.
