A printing paper having a base layer, an intermediate layer, and a surface layer, the intermediate layer being arranged adjacent to the base layer and on the base layer, and the surface layer being arranged adjacent to the intermediate layer and on the intermediate layer, the base layer, the intermediate layer, and the surface layer each being a thermoplastic resin film having pores, an average pore size of the surface layer being from 0.2 to 5 &#x3bc;m, an average pore size of the intermediate layer being from 5 to 70 &#x3bc;m and being greater than the average pore size of the surface layer, and an average pore size of the base layer being from 70 to 200 &#x3bc;m and being greater than the average pore size of the intermediate layer.
