To provide nitrogen-containing aromatic compounds with excellent oxygen reduction activity, metal complexes containing them, and catalysts and electrodes employing the same, the present invention provides an aromatic compound satisfying the following conditions (a) and (b):

A composition is provided for forming a conductive film. The composition includes a metal compound, a reducing agent, an ionic compound and/or a polar compound, and a compound having at least one atom selected from a nitrogen atom, a sulfur atom and a phosphorus atom. The composition may be an ink composition for coating on an electronic device.

Composition for forming conductive film

A composition of a silver-conjugated compound composite containing (1) a silver-conjugated compound composite containing a silver particle with a Feret diameter of 1,000 nm or less and a conjugated compound having a weight average molecular weight of 3.0&#xd7;10or more being adsorbed to the silver particles and (2) an ionic compound. The ionic compound may be a compound having a structure represented by the following Formula (hh-1):[Chem. 1]MX'&#x2003;&#x2003;(hh-1)wherein Mrepresents a metal cation, X&#x2032;represents an anion, a and b each independently represent an integer of 1 or more, and when Mand X&#x2032;are each plurally present, they may be the same as or different from each other.

Composition of silver-conjugated compound composite

A metallic composite in which a conjugated compound having a molecular weight of 200 or more is adsorbed to a metallic nanostructure having an aspect ratio of 1.5 or more, for example, a metallic composite in which a compound having a group represented by the formula (I) or a repeating unit represented by the formula (II) or both of them is adsorbed to a metallic nanostructure having an aspect ratio of 1.5 or more, is useful for electronic devices such as a light-emitting device, a solar cell and an organic transistor.

Also provided is a polymer having, as the repeating unit containing one or more ionic groups selected from two specific groups and one or more specific polar groups, one or more repeating units selected from four specific repeating units containing an aromatic group. The layered structure of the present invention provides an electroluminescent device capable of emitting light at a high luminance and a photoelectric conversion device having a high photoelectric conversion efficiency.

A silver-(conjugated compound) composite comprising silver particles having a number-average Feret diameter of not more than 1,000 nm, and a conjugated compound having a weight-average molecular weight of not less than 3.0&#xd7;10adsorbed to the silver particles. The composite exhibits excellent conductivity and charge injection properties, and excellent dispersibility within non-polar solvents.

An electronic device that serves as a high-brightness electroluminescent device includes a layer containing a polymer compound having one or more structural units selected from a structural unit represented by formula (1) and a structural unit represented by formula (14) as a charge injection layer and/or a charge transport layer: wherein Arand Arrepresent certain fused polycyclic aromatic groups; R, R, Rand Rrepresent certain organic groups; m1, m2 and m6 represent an integer of 1 or more; m7 represents an integer of 0 or more; and when R, R, Rand Rare each plurally present, they each may be the same or different.
