A coin receiving and dispensing machine includes a plurality of dispensable coin storing units for storing coins for dispensation in accordance with their denominations, each of the plurality of dispensable coin storing units including a conveyor belt inclined so that a feed-out end portion from which coins are fed out is disposed upward, a separation roller disposed above the conveyor belts in the vicinity of the feed-out end portions of the plurality of dispensable coin storing units so that a clearance between the conveyor belts and itself is a predetermined distance and rotatable in a direction reverse to a coin convey direction of the conveyor belts, a support plate for receiving coins from the feed-out end portions of the plurality of dispensable coin storing units and supporting them on an upper surface thereof, a plurality of dispensing rollers provided so as to correspond to the plurality of dispensable coin storing units, disposed above the support plate so that clearances between the support plate and themselves are predetermined distances and rotatable at higher speed than the coin convey speed of the conveyor belts, and a plurality of sensors for detecting coins fed out from the feed-out end portions of the plurality of dispensable coin storing units. The conveyor belts of the plurality of dispensable coin storing units are driven independently of each other. According to the thus constituted coin receiving and dispensing machine, it is possible to improve its durability.

A coin receiving and dispensing machine includes a coin discriminating and counting section for discriminating whether or not coins are acceptable and the denominations of the acceptable coins and counting the coins, coin sorting sections for sorting coins based on the result of the discrimination made by the coin discriminating and counting section, a coin temporary storing section for temporarily storing acceptable coins sorted by the coin sorting sections in accordance with their denominations, a dispensable coin storing section for receiving coins temporarily stored in the coin temporary storing section and storing them in accordance with their denominations, a safe for collecting coins, and a chute for feeding coins from the dispensable coin storing section to the safe. A bill receiving and dispensing machine of 'specific type of bill circulation-type' which can reuse, as bills for dispensation, only one specific type of bills among all types of received bills. According to the machine of the present invention, only one type of bills among all types of received bills is circulated through a circulating-bill pooling section for reuse as bills for dispensation and the dispensation bills other than the circulating bills are held in a dispensation bill container and the received bills and the dispensation bills are held in three limited sections, i.e. a circulating-bill pooling section, a received-bill container and a dispensation bill container. This makes it possible to eliminate the special bill pooling sections and the bill feeding-out mechanisms which are used in the conventional machines and therefore to simplify the mechanism and to reduce the noise during the operation thereof. Also according to the present machine, a common route, an accumulating route, a bill deliverer and a transaction port are so designed that they are always commonly used in both the bill receiving and bill-type separating mode and the bill dispensing mode. This makes it possible to effectively utilize the space within the machine body and thus to reduce the volume of the machine body.

A bill delivering apparatus for delivering accumulated bills to a horizontally spaced-apart position within a bill receiving and dispensing machine wherein the accumulated bills are automatically dropped into the bill delivering position by a scraping member when a supporting plate bearing the accumulated bills thereon is horizontally retracted. This makes it possible to reliably and easily deliver the bills while keeping them in accumulated condition only by dropping them into the bill receiving and dispensing mouth without need for the complicated clamping mechanism of the prior art for pressing the top and bottom surfaces of the accumulated bills. In the bill delivering apparatus, the supporting plate is automatically retracted by the engaging member and the bills accumulated on the supporting plate are delivered to a transaction port when the accumulated bills are horizontally moved by the movement of the slide rails. This makes it possible to continuously carry out both the transferring and delivering operations of the accumulated bills by a single power source. Also, according to the bill delivering apparatus of the present invention, the supporting plate is held in inclined condition by the upwardly inclined portion of the slide rails just under an accumulation wheel and can immediately receive thereon the bills from the accumulation wheel so that the ends of bills positionally abut against the scraping member. This makes it possible to stabilize the accumulated condition of the bills.

A bill pressing-down apparatus used for the bill receiving and dispensing machine for pressing down the accumulated bills from the top thereof to afford the bill feeding-out roller sufficient frictional force required for smoothly feeding out the bills. According to the bill pressing-down apparatus of the present invention, since the bil pressing-down plate is suspended at a position offset from the center of gravity of the bill pressing-down plate so that it takes an inclined attitude parallel to the bill accumulating plate and the accumulated bills due to its weight balance, the bill pressing-down plate is able to well contact the bill pressing-down plate with the top surface of the accumulated bills and to uniformly distribute the bill pressing-down force over the entire top surface of the accumulated bills. The bill pressing-down apparatus provision is itself compact and further enables realization of a compact bill delivering and dispensing machine. The bill pressing-down apparatus can be easily arranged in a small space within the machine body.

A device for carrying bank notes stacked in each of the container boxes to be inserted in an automatic money depositing and disbursing machine. The device carries the bank note stack while controlling the upper surface thereof at a pre-set level to render the related money stacking or dispensing means to gain access to the bank notes, when the device is inserted in position in the automatic money depositing and disbursing machine. On the other hand, when each box is removed from the machine, stacked bank notes are securely held in the box while being compressed by the pressing plate. The device provided by the invention comprises a box for containing therein bank notes and having an upper opening through which bank notes are stacked and dispensed, a pressing plate for carrying thereon the bank notes contained in the box to move them in the upward and downward directions and mounted in the box, a link shaft mounted to the box to be moved inboard or outboard relative to the longitudinal axis of the box and operatively connected to the pressing plate to move the same in said upward and downward directions, and means for locking the link shaft to prevent it from moving when the link shaft is moved inward of the box.

The present invention includes a device for opening and closing a bank note container box. The device includes a push cover hinged in the vicinity of the upper covering of the box to open and close the box. The push cover is closed to push the aft end of the uppermost banknote to ensure reliable separation during the operation of pulling a bank note out of the box. The device further includes a swingable lock member to engage and hold the push cover in a normally closed condition. A swingable unlocking member swings the lock member to release the push cover during the operation of stacking bank notes in the box. An opening arm operates the unlocking member to release the push cover from the locked condition. The push cover is guided between the open and closed positions.

A device for locking a front cover attached to a bank note container box to cover the opening of the box. The device securely locks the front cover in the closed condition when the box is removed from the automatic money depositing and disbursing machine, and releases the front cover automatically when the box is held in position within the machine. The device comprises, in combination, an opening and closing cam and an unlock cam mounted to the machine body, and a lock member and a first unlock lever mounted to the side plate of the box. When the box initially inserted in the machine body is moved to be pulled out, the unlock lever is raised by the unlock cam so that the lock member releases the front cover from the locked condition in which it is locked in the open position. Thereafter the front cover is slowly closed by the action of the opening and closing cam. Then the lock member is moved by the action of a biasing spring to the position for locking the front cover. In a further preferred embodiment, double lock means are provided for safe carriage of the box by hand. The double lock means comprises a further lock lever and an unlock member operatively associated with said first unlock lever.

By the use of the device of the invention, the accumulating wheels are swung forcibly and simultaneously to the upper retracted positions and swung independently to the lower accumulation positions. The device comprises a stopper integrally mounted on an accumulating wheel oscillating shaft and being biased by a spring to move each of the accumulating wheels normally and independently to the lower accumulating position, a swinging lug swingably mounted on the accumulating wheel oscillating shaft and adapted to be engaged with said stopper to swing the same in the direction so that the accumulating wheel is forcibly moved to the upper retracted position, and a link bar operatively connected to said swinging lug to swing the same between the angular positions for setting the accumulating wheel at the lower accumulating position and for setting the accumulating wheel at the upper retracted position.

The present invention provides a device for securely holding stacked bank notes in a bank note stacker box. The device is to be assembled in an automatic money depositing and disbursing machine, and comprises a combination of a stopper and a push cover having an operation plate fitted with a frictional member. The stopper is swingably supported by the box to be held normally at the position to constrain the fore edges of the stacked bank notes, to be swung to the position to release the fore edges of the bank notes at the commencement of the operation of sucking and pulling out the notes from the box, to be restored to the normal constraining position to prevent the remaining notes from being pulled out of the box at the termination of the operation of sucking and pulling out the notes, and to be held at a position to scrape off the bank notes conveyed by and accumulating wheel while being inserted below respective paddles of the accumulating wheel to let them fall down into the box during the operation of accumulating and stacking bank notes into the box. The push cover has the operation plate adapted to be set to the closed position to push the aft end portion of the stacked notes during the operation of sucking and pulling out the notes from the box to ensure separation of the sucked uppermost note by the action of the fitted frictional member, and adapted to be set to the open position during the operation of accumulating and stacking bank notes. Further proposed is a front cover which is co-operatively associated with the stopper such that it locks the fore end portion of the stopper to prevent the same from opening when the box is disassembled from the machine body of the automatic money depositing and disbursing machine.

There is provided a device for enabling an operator to perform the inserting and/or removing operations of the bank note stacker boxes promptly and reliably by a simplified operation.
