A disc loading structure capable of automatically and positively loading a disc in a disc apparatus with a simple structure irrespective of the size of the disc and carrying out a substantial decrease in power consumption in use and manufacturing costs. A mechanical sensor link is pivotally arranged so as to be pivotally moved due to engagement with a disc and a lock member is pivotally arranged and selectively engaged with the sensor link so as to be pivotally movable in association with the pivotal movement thereof. The lock member selectively serves to lock a stopper arm at a small-diameter disc position depending upon the position of the sensor link pivotally moved. Also, the structure includes a large-diameter disc regulator for holding the stopper arm at a large-diameter disc position.

Disc loading mechanism for large and small disks

A locking mechanism comprises a chassis, a floating unit supported movably by the chassis through the intermediary of a damper, a shift plate provided in the chassis and movable by a drive power of a motor, a link mechanism cable of rotational movement by the movement of the shift plate, and a lock plate movable by the link mechanism. The shift plate has a first lock part movable in a first direction, the link mechanism has a second lock part movable in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction, and the lock plate has a third lock part movable in the first direction. The floating unit has first, second and third engaging parts for engaging the first, second and third lock parts, respectively, to limit the movement of the floating unit. A mechanism for limiting the vertical movement of the floating unit is provided in at least one of combinations of the first, second and third lock parts with the first, second and third engaging parts.

An eject lever arrangement includes a subsidiary plate mounted on an eject lever by engagement between an engage pin of the eject lever and an engage hole of the subsidiary plate for reciprocal and swinging movements. The subsidiary plate is connected to a guide arm by a link member so that the guide arm is rotated by the eject lever and subsidiary plate to move a pack stopper back and forth to eject a cassette out of the tape player or pull same to an inner position of the tape player.

Eject lever arrangement

A pinch roller compressive mechanism of a tape player includes a head plate movable on a chassis and having a pivotably mounted sub-plate which includes engage portions. One end of each biasing spring for biasing a pinch roller to a capstan shaft engages the engage portion of the sub-plate, so that its counterforce is accepted by the engage portion and never applied to the head plate.
