Controller performs a plurality of pieces of abnormality diagnosing processing in a vehicle. The plurality of pieces of abnormality diagnosing processing includes a first-type abnormality diagnosing processing of detecting the abnormality that occurs due to a plurality of types of causes and a second-type abnormality diagnosing processing of detecting the abnormality that occurs due to one type of cause. When the abnormality is detected by the first-type abnormality diagnosing processing, controller specifies the cause of the abnormality detected by the first-type abnormality diagnosing processing based on a diagnosis result of the second-type abnormality diagnosing processing.

Abnormality diagnosing system, and power supply system for vehicle

Power supply system mounted in electric vehicle includes voltage measurement unit that measures a voltage of each of a plurality of cells to ensure both safety of an electric vehicle and convenience of a user. Current measurement unit therein measures a current flowing through the plurality of cells. Temperature measurement unit therein measures a temperature of the plurality of cells. Controller therein determines a current limit value defining an upper limit of a current for suppressing cell deterioration and ensuring safety based on the voltage, the current, and the temperature of each of the plurality of cells measured by voltage measurement unit, current measurement unit, and temperature measurement unit respectively, and that notifies a higher-level controller in electric vehicle of the determined current limit value.

Power supply system and management device capable of determining current upper limit for supressing cell deterioration and ensuring safety

A voltage measurement unit measures voltages of the plurality of cells connected in series. A plurality of discharge circuits are connected in parallel to the plurality of cells, respectively. A controller controls, based on the voltages of the plurality of cells detected by voltage measurement unit, the plurality of discharge circuits to make the voltages or capacities of the plurality of cells equal to a target value. The controller determines a number of cells to be discharged among the plurality of cells in accordance with an allowable temperature of a substrate having the plurality of discharge circuits.

Management device and electricity storage system

In order to improve safety while suppressing a decrease in efficiency of an equalizing process between a plurality of cells, controller executes an equalizing process between a plurality of cells by controlling a plurality of discharge circuits based on voltages of the plurality of cells measured by voltage measurement unit. Anomaly determination circuit determines whether or not the voltage of each of cells measured by voltage measurement unit is within a normal range. Controller includes, for each first cycle, a first discharge suspension period during which the voltages of the plurality of cells are measured without an influence of the equalizing process during execution of the equalizing process between the plurality of cells and includes, for each second cycle longer than the first cycle, a second discharge suspension period during which a determination result according to anomaly determination circuit is fixed.

Management device and power storage system

A monitoring device includes a first detection block, a second detection block, and a monitoring unit. Each of the first detection block and the second detection block includes one or more voltage detectors that detect voltages across power storage cells. The monitoring unit includes a complement processor that, when a circuit in the first detection block breaks down and the first detection block fails to transmit the states of the power storage cells to the monitoring unit, complements the states of the power storage cells that have not been acquired from the first detection block, based on the states of the power storage cells detected in the second detection block.

Monitoring device and power storage system

A monitoring system includes: a first monitor that receives, from a first output terminal, a voltage detected by a voltage detector and information on a circuit failure; a second monitor that receives, from a second output terminal, an abnormal voltage signal detected by the voltage detector; and a vehicle controller that electrically disconnects a driving motor from an electricity storing unit. When a circuit failure occurs in one circuit of a circuit on a side of the first output terminal and a circuit on a side of the second output terminal and a circuit failure does not occur in the other circuit, and the electricity storing unit is normal, the vehicle controller connects the driving motor with the electricity storing unit.

Monitoring system

A voltage detection circuit detects the voltage of a plurality of serially connected cells in a power storage unit. The voltage detection circuit receives a supply of a power supply voltage from both ends of the plurality of cells. A DC-DC converter converts the voltage between both ends of the plurality of cells into another DC voltage. An adjustment circuit adjusts the power consumption of the plurality of cells. The adjustment circuit operates using the DC voltage generated by the DC-DC converter as the power supply voltage.
