In a base station (), a controller () determines one set from among a plurality of sets, each of which including one or more candidates for a resource for an uplink (UL) control channel during initial access, and determines one candidate from among the one or more candidates for the resource, which is included in the determined set. A transmitter () indicates the determined set to a terminal () by higher layer signaling, and indicates the determined candidate by dynamic signaling. A receiver () receives a UL control signal, using the resource corresponding to the determined candidate in the determined set. In the base station, the association between a value to be indicated by the higher layer signaling and the plurality of sets is configured for each of one or more parameters relating to the initial access.

Base station, terminal, and communication method

The present disclosure provides a transceiver device and scheduling device, and communication methods for transceiver device and scheduling device. The transceiver device comprises a transceiver which, in operation, receives a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH), indicating a frequency range included in a carrier and applicable for transmission to be performed between the transceiver device and a scheduling device and a slot format indicating a sequence of symbol types by which the transmission is to be performed on a plurality of symbols included in a slot on the frequency range, the symbol types including at least one of an uplink symbol type, a downlink symbol type, and a flexible symbol type, and circuitry which, in operation, determines, based on the PDCCH, the frequency range and the slot format. The transceiver, in operation, performs the transmission on the frequency range in compliance with the slot format.

In a base station, control circuitry determines, based on an offset for defining a frequency position of a narrowband allocated to an MPDCCH and a resource block group size of a system band, allocations of a first EPDCCH set and a second EPDCCH set that constitute the MPDCCH. The MPDCCH is a PDCCH for MTC. The second EPDCCH set has a different number of PRBs from the first EPDCCH set. A transmitter transmits a control signal according to the allocations of the first EPDCCH set and the second EPDCCH set. Further, the control circuitry controls a number of RBGs in which both the first EPDCCH set and the second EPDCCH set are allocated to be zeto or one.

The present invention relates to selection of synchronization source among various synchronization sources which include sources determining the synchronization signal from the network such as base stations (network nodes) or user equipments which receive the synchronization signal possibly over other hops from the base station, and which further includes sources which do not determine their synchronization signal from the network. The selection of the synchronization source is performed by choosing the source with the most reliable synchronization signal based on a metric calculated for each of the sources considered. In particular, the metric is based on the type of the source, number of hops between the network and the source and/or received signal quality. After selecting the source, the timing of the device is adapted accordingly.

In the present invention, a terminal can appropriately perform a random-access process. In a terminal (), a wireless transmission unit () transmits a random-access signal including at least a data part. A rank determination unit () controls the configuration of the data part on the basis of a parameter regarding the transmission of the random-access signal.

Provided is a base station that performs feedback with regard to data transmission. The base station includes a downlink feedback information (DFI) generation unit and a transmitter. On the basis of a resource allocation configuration that was configured by a terminal, the DFI generation unit determines a transmission method for feedback information that includes a response signal regarding uplink data. The transmitter transmits the feedback information on the basis of the transmission method.

A base station () is provided with a transmitter and a receiver. The transmitter () transmits a downlink signal in a downlink transmission region, in a time unit that includes the downlink transmission region, an uplink transmission region, and a gap period that is a switching point between the downlink transmission region and the uplink transmission region. The present disclosure provides a base station, comprising a transceiver; and circuitry which, in operation, controls the transceiver to serve a cell associated with a first tracking area code, TAC, periodically transmit, in system information, a TAC indicator indicating at least one TAC associated with the cell, and transmit a trigger indicator for triggering a transceiver device to perform a system information update procedure when a content of the system information changes, wherein the circuitry, in operation, prevents the transceiver from transmitting the trigger indicator in a case where the cell is being associated with a second TAC due to a movement of the cell.

Tracking area code transmission in non-terrestrial networks

The present disclosure relates to a user equipment comprising a receiver receiving a minimum-system-information message from a first radio base station. System information for the first radio cell that can be acquired by the UE is carried within the minimum-SI message and one or more additional-SI messages. The minimum-SI message includes system information for accessing the first radio cell and at least one system information index, each of which is associated with one of the additional-SI messages. The SI message index comprises a value tag and an area pointer, the latter pointing to one area already defined. Processing circuitry determines whether the UE had already acquired before the additional-SI message associated with the same value tag and the same area. If the determination is positive, the processing circuitry determines that system information included in said additional-SI message acquired before is applicable to the first radio cell.

User equipment and base station participating in a system information acquisition procedure

The present disclosure relates to a user equipment, with a processor which upon being triggered by a random access events, determines random access transmission parameters to be used by the UE for transmitting a random access message to its base station. At least part of the random access transmission parameters are determined based on the random access event that triggered the transmission of the random access message and on random access configuration information. The random access configuration information associates each of a plurality of random access events with a set of random access transmission parameters among a plurality of random access transmission parameters usable by the user equipment to transmit a random access message to the base station. A transmitter of the UE transmits the random access message to the base station using the determined random access transmission parameters.

The present disclosure relates to a mobile terminal and base station and respective operation methods. The mobile terminal comprises circuitry, which in operation, determines a condition for requesting on-demand a transmission of other system information; performs a random access procedure; and receives via broadcast a system information message including the on-demand requested other system information. The system information request message of the random access procedure includes an information element with a bit-pattern conforming to a specific format with at least a part of the bit-pattern for requesting the other system information.
