A resource assignment determiner determines a resource for a PDSCH intended for an MTC terminal, and a transmitter transmits an MPDCCH that includes resource assignment bits indicating the resource thus determined and transmits the PDSCH using the resource thus determined. The MPDCCH is a PDCCH intended for the MTC terminal. The resource assignment bits are associated with a resource that is used when the MPDCCH and the PDSCH are transmitted in the same subframe and a resource that is used when the MPDCCH and the PDSCH are transmitted in different subframes.

Provided are a user equipment, base station and wireless communication methods related to resource configuration for sidelink communication, sidelink discovery or any other sidelink operation in NR. In a base station, control circuitry determines, based on an offset for defining a frequency position of a narrowband allocated to an MPDCCH and a resource block group size of a system band, allocations of a first EPDCCH set and a second EPDCCH set that constitute the MPDCCH. The present invention relates to selection of synchronization source among various synchronization sources which include sources determining the synchronization signal from the network such as base stations (network nodes) or user equipments which receive the synchronization signal possibly over other hops from the base station, and which further includes sources which do not determine their synchronization signal from the network. The selection of the synchronization source is performed by choosing the source with the most reliable synchronization signal based on a metric calculated for each of the sources considered. In particular, the metric is based on the type of the source, number of hops between the network and the source and/or received signal quality. After selecting the source, the timing of the device is adapted accordingly.
