A control method for an arc welding apparatus having a function of prohibiting detection of neck based on a change amount of welding voltage and an arc welding apparatus using the method. Thus, since neck determination can be carried out accurately by preventing wrong detection of neck, it is possible to reduce the occurrence of spatter.

In a conventional arc welding robot control unit, since an emergency stop circuit for a robot and an emergency stop circuit for a welding machine exist independently of each other, not only the circuit configuration thereof is long but also the emergency stop enforcing processings and emergency stop removing processings are executed individually. To solve these problems, according to the invention, there is provided an arc welding robot control unit which comprises an inverter circuitfor enforcing arc welding, main power supply switches-for turning on and off a main power supply used to supply power to the inverter circuita main power supply control partfor controlling the main power supply switches-and an emergency stop buttonfor emergency stopping the operation of a robot, wherein, when the emergency stop buttonis depressed to thereby put the robot into emergency stop, the main power supply switches-can be turned off in linking with the robot emergency stop.

Controller for arc welding robot

The present invention provides an arc welder in which a robot controller of a teaching playback type robot and a welding power source are of digital control type and the robot controller and the welding power source are coupled through a bus. A welding condition command required for welding and a real welding condition are transmitted digitally through the bus in a parallel mode.

In a consumable electrode type arc welding method, when short circuit shift welding is conducted at the start of an arc in the process of pulse arc welding and also when an inclinations of a rise or fall is decreased in the case of starting an arc in the process of pulse welding and also when an inclination of a short circuit current is increased, short circuit, which irregularly occurs at the start of an arc, can be released in a short period of time and the arc can be stabilized early. When the generation of a magnetic arc blow is suppressed, it becomes possible to form proper welding beads. Due to the foregoing, the efficiency of welding work can be enhanced.

Consumable electrode type pulse arc welding method

An arc welding machine which is capable of feeding a welding wire stably at low and a high speeds. The arc welding machine includes a welding wire feed rate setting section; a welding wire feed motor; a welding wire feed motor driving section which supplies electric power required for driving said welding wire feed motor; and a welding wire feed control section which uses, as a control frequency, a frequency other than a frequency of an input power supply or a frequency twice as high or three times as high, or a wire feed control section which selects a low control frequency for feeding a welding wire at a low rate and a high frequency for feeding the welding wire at a high rate, or a welding wire feed control section which selects a high control frequency for feeding the welding wire at a low rate and a low frequency for feeding the welding wire at a high rate.
