Provided is a curable composition having excellent water vapor permeability, which enables to protect a building from rainwater or moisture in the air and release the water accumulated on the side of the base of the building, to the outside. Also provided is a curable composition which has easy workability and is less likely to allow migration or exudation of a plasticizer to the surface of the cured product. Also provided is a liquid waterproof coating material having moisture permeability which contains the curable composition. The curable composition includes an organic polymer (I) that has less than one hydrolyzable silyl group per molecule on average and contains 5 to 80 wt % of oxyethylene units.

The present invention aims to provide a method for producing a polyalkylene oxide, which is capable of improving reduction in reactivity of a double metal cyanide complex catalyst in the case that a low molecular weight initiator is used, and producing the polyalkylene oxide with high productivity at low cost. The method for producing a polyalkylene oxide comprises carrying out a ring-opening addition reaction of an alkylene oxide with an initiator having at least one hydroxy group and having a molecular weight of not more than 300 per hydroxy group in the presence of a double metal cyanide complex catalyst in an organic solvent, wherein the organic solvent is used in an amount of 500 to 1,500 parts by weight relative to 100 parts by weight of the alkylene oxide used at the start of the reaction.

Process for producing polyalkylene oxide

The object of the present invention is to provide a method for producing an organic polymer having a terminal trimethoxy silyl group. In the method, the exchange reaction into a methoxy group can proceed within a short time even with a small amount of a catalyst, and viscosity increase caused by a side reaction during the methoxy exchange reaction can be reduced. Obtained polymer has an excellent stability, and viscosity increase during the storage of the polymer after the exchange into a trimethoxysilyl group can be reduced. The present invention provides a method comprising the steps of allowing an organic polymer having a silicon atom at a molecular terminus to react with methanol in the presence of a catalyst removable from an organic polymer and/or a deactivatable catalyst, wherein three hydrolyzable groups are bonded to the silicon atom, with the proviso that at least one of the three groups is a functional group other than methoxy group; and then removing the catalyst from the reaction mixture and/or deactivating the catalyst in the reaction mixture, to give the organic polymer having a terminal trimethoxysilyl group.

The present invention relates to a simple method for efficiently producing aromatic-substituted chlorinated hydrocarbons, for example, high-purity cumyl chloride (1,4-bis(1-chloro-1-methylethyl)benzene, p-DCC) that can be used as an initiator for cationic polymerization. A corresponding tertiary alcohol such as 1,4-bis(1-hydroxy-1-methylethyl)benzene is mixed with aqueous hydrochloric acid and subjected to stirring, and then the resulting organic layer is brought into contact with a hydrogen chloride gas to produce high-quality aromatic-substituted chlorinated hydrocarbon in high yield. Furthermore, in order to purify a mixture containing a chlorinated hydrocarbon compound, the mixture being produced by reaction between an aqueous solution of a metal hypochiorite and a protonic acid, the mixture is allowed to react with an aqueous alkaline solution to form an alcohol compound. Then, a solid is isolated by solid-liquid separation and chlorinated again with the aqueous hydrochloric acid. As a result, a high-purity chlorinated hydrocarbon compound is produced in high yield.

The present invention has its object to provide a curable composition giving cured products improved in residual tack (reduced in stickiness), with the physical properties insuring those tensile characteristics and rubber elasticity required of sealing compositions for general architectural use being retained. The present invention provides a curable composition which comprises (I) 100 parts by weight of a reactive silicon group-containing polyether oligomer with the percentage of the number of reactive silicon groups to the number of molecular chain terminals as determined by H-NMR analysis being not less than 85% and (II) 1 to 500 parts by weight of a plasticizer.
