Disclosed are an antistatic agent which does not impair the appearance and the mechanical strength of a molded article and which provides sufficient permanent antistatic properties to the molded article even when added in a small amount, and an antistatic resin composition containing the same. The antistatic agent (Z) includes: a block polymer (A) containing a block of hydrophobic polymer (a) and a block of hydrophilic polymer (b) as constituent units; and an organic fluorine-modified polyolefin (B). The antistatic resin composition is obtained by containing the antistatic agent in a thermoplastic resin (C).

Antistatic agent and antistatic resin composition

An antistatic resin composition is provided, from which a thermoplastic resin molded article having a sufficient permanent antistatic property without impairing an excellent mechanical property or a good appearance of the molded article, even in a case that the content of an antistatic agent contained in the composition is less than that in a conventional composition, is provided. The antistatic resin composition contains an antistatic agent (A) and a thermoplastic resin (B), in which a melt viscosity ratio of the thermoplastic resin (B) to the antistatic agent (A) at 220&#xb0; C. is 0.5-5 and an absolute value of a difference between solubility parameters (SPs) of the antistatic agent (A) and the thermoplastic resin (B) is 1.0-3.0. The antistatic resin molded article is obtained by molding the antistatic resin composition.

The present invention provides a method for producing a toner including preparing an emulsified dispersion which contains emulsion particles by emulsifying or dispersing an oil phase containing at least a pigment and any one of a binder resin and a binder resin precursor in an aqueous medium, and granulating toner base particles by converging the emulsified dispersion, wherein the Casson yield value of the single oil phase before being emulsified or dispersed in the aqueous medium is 0.5 Pa to 20 Pa; and the temperature Tn of the emulsified dispersion in the preparation of the emulsified dispersion, the temperature Ts of the emulsified dispersion in the granulation of the toner base particles, and the glass transition temperature Tg of the toner base particles satisfy the relation Tn&#x3c;Ts&#x3c;Tg.

Provided is a resin particle comprising a resin (a) and a filler (b) contained in the particle; the particle has a volume average particle diameter of from 0.1 to 300 &#x3bc;m and a shape factor of from 110 to 300; the particle has an outer shell layer (S) comprising at least a portion of the filler (b); the layer (S) is at least 0.01 &#x3bc;m thick and has a thickness that is &#xbd; or less of the maximum inscribed circle radius of the particle cross section. When used as a toner resin, it is excellent in blade cleaning properties and wide in the fixation temperature range; when employed as a paint additive or a cosmetics additive, it is excellent in masking properties; when used as paper coating additive, it is excellent in ink retention; when utilized as an abrasive, it is excellent in abrasion.

The toner comprises a binder resin and a colorant and is characterized in that the average circularity of the toner is at least 0.95, a ratio (D/S) between the total projection area (S) and the contact area (D) of the toner is 15% to 40%, and the contact area (D) is a total contact area between the toner and an object surface. The toner has such a shape as to be able to contact a latent image carrier with a proper contact area, has a high transferring rate and can prevent transferring dust.

A method for preparing a resin particle having a large surface area and a shape factor (SF-1) of 110 to 800, which comprises a step of applying a shear force to an aqueous dispersion having a viscosity of 300 to 100,000 mPa&#xb7;s formed by adding a thickener to an aqueous dispersion containing resin particles, and a subsequent step of decreasing the viscosity of the aqueous dispersion to 200 mPa&#xb7;s or less by adding a viscosity decreasing agent as necessary. Resin particles obtained by the method can be used as additives for paint, additives for coating materials, powder coatings, additives for cosmetics, resins for slush molding, spacers for use in manufacturing electronic components or devices, standard particles for electronic measuring instruments, toners for electrophotography, toners for electrostatic recording, toners for electrostatic printing, and hot-melt adhesives.

Resin particle and method for preparation thereof

The invention is a composite resin particle useful as an additive for paints or coatings, powder coatings, cosmetic additives, slush molding resins, spacer for electronic part assembly, standard particles for electric measurement devices, toner, hot melt adhesive as well as other molding materials. Said composite resin particle comprises a resin microparticle (A) depositing on the surface of a resin particle (B) wherein the shape factor (SF-1) of said composite resin particle is 115 to 800. It is also a composite resin particle comprising a resin microparticle (A) depositing on the surface of a resin particle (B) wherein the acid vale of a resin (b) constituting the resin particle (B) is 5 to 100.
