The image processing circuit corrects magnification chromatic aberration with respect to picked-up image data which has been picked up by an image sensor through an image pickup optical system that includes a correcting lens that corrects an image blur by shifting a position of the correcting lens. In accordance with an operation amount of the correcting lens, the image processing circuit selects and executes either of a first correction process in which a correction amount stored in a memory in advance is read to correct magnification chromatic aberration, or a second correction process in which a correction amount is calculated using the picked-up image data to correct magnification chromatic aberration.

An image processing apparatus performs distortion aberration correction appropriate for each of the cases where the image processing apparatus clips image data by performing electronic image stabilization and does not clip the image data by performing the electronic image stabilization.
