[OBJECTS] An object of the present invention is to provide a lithium-ion-conductive ceramic material having a target ion conductivity, while suppressing production cost. Another object is to provide a high-performance lithium battery, while suppressing production cost, by virtue of having the lithium-ion-conductive ceramic material. The lithium-ion-conductive ceramic material contains Li, La, and Zr, as well as at least one of Mg and A (wherein A represents at least one element selected from the group consisting of Ca, Sr, and Ba) and which has a garnet-type crystal structure, wherein the elements contained in the ceramic material satisfy the following mole ratio conditions (1) to (3): (1) 1.33&#x2264;Li/(La+A)&#x2264;3; (2) 0&#x3c;Mg/(La+A)&#x2264;0.5; and (3) 0&#x3c;A/(La+A)&#x2264;0.67, and a lithium battery employing the ceramic material.

Lithium-ion-conductive ceramic material, lithium-ion-conductive ceramic sintered body, and lithium battery

A dielectric material comprising: a glass powder constituted of a glass comprising Si, B and an alkali metal element, the glass being amorphous in sintering at a temperature of 1,050&#xb0; C. or lower; and a ceramic filler comprising at least one member of SiO, AlOand 3AlO.2SiO, and an alkali metal element, wherein when a total sum of Si converted into SiO, B converted into BOand the alkali metal element converted into AO, wherein A represents an alkali metal element, all of which are contained in the glass, is 100 mole %, the content of the alkali metal element converted into AO, which is contained in the glass, is 0.5 mole % or less; and when a total sum of at least one member of SiO, AlOand 3AlO.2SiO, and the alkali metal element converted into AO, all of which are contained in the ceramic filler, is 100 mole %, a content of the alkali metal element converted into AO, which is contained in the ceramic filler, is 0.5 mole % or less.

Dielectric material and dielectric sintered body, and wiring board using the same

A wiring board comprising: a conductor layer comprising Fe and Cu; and at least one of a radiator, a connection terminal, a cover and a circuit component, connected to the conductor layer through a joining member, which is obtained by coating a copper paste comprising a copper powder, an organic vehicle and an FeOparticle as a conductor layer on a ceramic green sheet and firing it.

Copper paste and wiring board using the same

A wiring board obtained by filling a copper paste in a via hole formed on a ceramic green sheet and firing it to form an insulating layer and a via conductor, the copper paste comprising a copper powder, an organic vehicle and at least one selected from the group consisting of: a ceramic particle having an average particle size of 100 nm or less; and an FeOparticle, wherein the copper paste comprises from 6 to 20 parts by mass of the organic vehicle per 100 parts by mass of the copper powder.

The invention is to offer such a dielectric ceramic enabling to simultaneously sinter with the low resistant conductor of Ag based metals and Cu based metals, having the excellent mechanical strength and exhibiting the excellent dielectric characteristics in the GHz zone. Mixed powders of Si: 20 to 30 weight %, B: 5 to 30 weight %, Al: 20 to 30 weight %, Ca: 10 to 20 weight %, and Zn: 10 to 20 weight % are prepared, melted, and rapidly cooled to produce glass frits. The glass frits are granulated and mixed with gahnite filler and titania filler which are inorganic filler powders. Subsequently, a binder is thrown into the powders to produce a composition of dielectric ceramic, and then is formed, followed by sintering. The mixed powders may contain at least one kind of alkali metal of Li, K and Na.

Composition for producing low sintering temperature ceramic dielectrics and method of manufacturing such dielectrics

A low-temperature firing ceramic composition contains Sr MgSi O crystals forming a major crystal phase of the composition. This composition can be produced, for example, by a process including the steps of (a) mixing together a silica powder, a magnesia powder and a strontium oxide powder to obtain a powder mixture; (b) subjecting the powder mixture to a calcination at a temperature of 1,000-1,200&deg; C. to obtain a calcination product containing Sr MgSi O crystals; (c) mixing the calcination product with alumina powder, boron oxide powder, lithium oxide powder, binder and ethanol to obtain a powder mixture; (d) granulating the powder mixture; (e) shaping the resulting granules into a green body; (f) compacting the green body by a hydrostatic pressing (CIP); and (g) firing the resulting compact in an atmosphere of air, thereby obtaining the composition. A wiring substrate includes a laminate of green sheets, each containing Sr MgSi O crystals, and a wiring pattern formed in an inside of the laminate and/or on a surface of the laminate.

Low-temperature firing ceramic composition, process for producing same and wiring substrate prepared by using same

A dielectric material is disclosed which has a small absolute value of the temperature coefficient of resonance frequency and a high coefficient of unloaded quality. Also disclosed are a process for producing the dielectric material and multilayer and other circuit boards containing the dielectric material. The dielectric material is a highly densified material having a water absorption lower than 0.1%, which is obtained by mixing 95.5 to 99.5 percent by weight mixture of a glass frit and a strontium compound with 0.5 to 4.5 percent by weight titanium dioxide, compacting the resultant mixture, and sintering the compact at a relatively low temperature around 930.degree. C. This dielectric material is a glass ceramic containing strontium anorthite (SrAl.sub.2 Si.sub.2 O.sub.8) as the main crystalline phase, and may contain the TiO.sub.2, which remains unchanged after sintering. The absolute value of the temperature coefficient of resonance frequency of the dielectric material is 20 ppm/.degree. C. or lower, preferably 10 ppm/.degree. C. or lower, more preferably 5 ppm/.degree. C. or lower. The product of the unloaded quality coefficient and resonance frequency is 1,800 GHz or larger, preferably 2,500 GHz or larger. This material therefore has excellent dielectric properties.

Dielectric material with low temperature coefficient and high quality

Powders of BaCO.sub.3, TiO.sub.2, ZnO, etc. are mixed to each other at a predetermined ratio of quantity, calcined in an atmospheric air at 90.degree.-120.degree. C., and pulverized to obtain a calcined powder having an average grain size from 1 to 3 .mu. m. 0.1 to 20 parts-by weight of a powder having an average grain size from 0.1 to 1.5 .mu.m comprising a glass having a transition point of not higher than 450.degree. C. obtained by mixing powders of Pb.sub.3 O.sub.4, SiO.sub.2, Na.sub.2 O, etc. to each other, melting and then pouring into water and pulverizing the thus obtained glass is admixed to the calcined powder. The mixture is dried, pelleted by adding a resin and the pellet powder is molded into a cylindrical shape, applied with CIP (Cold isotactic press), and the molding product after the treatment is sintered in an atmospheric air at 850.degree. to 1000.degree. C. to obtain a dielectric ceramic sintered at low temperature. The resultant dielectric ceramic has high denseness and high unloaded Q value while maintaining .tau.f within a practical range.

Composition for producing low sintering temperature ceramic dielectrics

The invention provides a glass-ceramic composite with sufficient strength and other excellent properties suitable for IC packages or multilayer substrates. The glass-ceramic composite of the invention includes crystallized glass and at least either of alumina and mullite at the ratio by weight of eighty through fifty-five to twenty through forty-five. The crystallized glass includes cordierite as primary crystals and contains 40 to 52 percent by weight of silicon dioxide or SiO.sub.2, 27 to 37 percent by weight of aluminum oxide or Al.sub.2 O.sub.3, 11 to 13 percent by weight of magnesium oxide or MgO, 2 to 8 percent by weight of diboron trioxides or B.sub.2 O.sub.3, 2 to 8 percent by weight of calcium oxide or CaO, and 0.1 to 3 percent by weight of zirconium oxide or ZrO.sub.2.

Glass-ceramic composite

A ceramic substrate is described consisting essentially of a crystallized glass and having at least one throught-hole filled with a conductor material having 100 parts by weight of copper and form 1 to 30 parts by weight of a glass having a softening point of 1,000.degree. C. or less and a thermal expansion coefficient of from 1.5.times.10.sup.-6 /K to 4.0.times.10.sup.-6 /K as measured in a temperature range of from room temperature to 400.degree. C.
