A printer includes a guide frame, a deforming section, and a lever member. The guide frame includes a transport path. The deforming section includes a toothed roller, a supporting holder, and a torsion spring and deforms paper. The toothed roller comes into contact with the paper discharged from the transport path. The supporting holder is configured to pivot between a first position at which the toothed roller is located on the transport path and a second position at which the toothed roller is not located on the transport path. The torsion spring presses the supporting holder from the second position to the first position. The lever member is configured to switch between a regulating state in which pivoting of the supporting holder at the first position or the second position is regulated and a non-regulating state in which pivoting of the supporting holder is not regulated.

Discharging apparatus

A recording system includes: a recording apparatus; a post-processing apparatus; and a transport apparatus which transports the medium to which the recording is performed to the post-processing apparatus, and the transport apparatus includes a transport mechanism which transports a medium to which the recording is performed to the post-processing apparatus, and a loading stand which loads the discharged medium without transporting the medium to which the recording is performed to the post-processing apparatus.

A joint mechanism includes a first route member and a second route member. The first route member includes; a first pivot point disposed in a first apparatus, which forms a portion of a transport route opposite a first surface of a sheet; and a first pivot section that extends from the first pivot point toward a second apparatus and that has a first abutment member. The second route member includes: a second pivot point disposed in the second apparatus, which forms a portion of the transport route opposite a second surface of the sheet; and a second pivot section that extends from the second pivot point toward the first apparatus and that has a second abutment member. The first abutment member abuts against the second route member and the second abutment member abuts against the first route member to maintain a space to transport the sheet.

A medium transport unit includes an upstream route in which a print sheet is transported, a first switchback route, a second switchback route, a first guide route, a second guide route, a guide flap configured to switch the route so that the print sheet in the upstream route is transported either toward the first guide route or toward the second guide route, a first discharge route from which the print sheet in the first switchback route is discharged, a second discharge route from which the print sheet in the second switchback route is discharged, and a downstream route passing between the first switchback route and the second switchback route and having an upstream end connected to a junction of downstream ends of the first discharge route and the second discharge route.

The first branch path and the second branch path which branch off at a branch point from the inlet path. The first junction path and the second junction path and the outlet path join each other at a junction point. The first branch path and the first junction path and the first inversion path join each other at a first connection point. An intermediate unit includes a transportation path along which a medium, on which printing has been performed by a printing unit that performs printing on the medium by using liquid, is transported to a post processing unit that performs post processing on the medium. The transportation path is provided with a drying unit that accelerates the drying of the medium. The drying unit is driven according to the printing data.

The transporting device includes a transporting path on which a medium recorded by the recording portion is transported in a transporting direction, and a contact portion that comes in contact with a front end of the medium, which is transported through the transporting path, to adjust a transporting state of the medium is adjusted. The transporting path has a guide portion that guides the medium to be transported to the contact portion, the guide portion has a first guide portion that is configured to swing, and a second guide portion that faces the first guide portion and is configured to swing, and the first guide portion and the second guide portion are disposed at a standby position when the medium is not transported through the transporting path, and are configured to move in directions away from each other from the standby position.

A recording apparatus includes: a housing body in which a recording portion that performs recording is housed; a curved reversal path along a curve of which the medium, after the recording, is turned over to be guided to a position above the recording portion; a medium receiving tray that is provided over the recording portion at a position of horizontally overlapping with the housing body and receives the medium ejected through the curved reversal path; a relaying portion that is provided over the medium receiving tray at a position of horizontally overlapping with the housing body and sends the medium coming along the curved reversal path to an area horizontally outside the housing body; and a course switcher that switches a course of the medium beyond the curved reversal path to either the medium receiving tray or the relaying portion.

A method for manufacturing a refilled cartridge for performing refilling of printing material after use of a cartridge is provided. The cartridge includes a first case including a recess having a bottom surface and an opening, a flexible portion attached to the opening, a second case covering the open surface of the first case, a pressure receiving portion contacting the flexible portion, a chamber of variable capacity and a biasing member that generates negative pressure inside the chamber The printing material is refilled into the chamber so that two or more points across the biasing member on the pressure receiving portion do not contact the second case after refilling of the printing material is completed.
