A method of manufacturing an image display panel, having one or more cells formed in an isolated manner from one another by partition walls and accommodating image display media and a plurality of image display elements, in which the image display media are sealed between opposed two substrates, at least one of the two substrates being transparent, and, in which the image display media, to which an electrostatic field is applied, are made to move so as to display an image, characterized in that the improvement comprises the steps of: (1) manufacturing a substrate with the partition walls on one substrate; applying an adhesive mixture obtained by mixing a photo-curing resin and a heat-hardening resin on the partition walls; and then connecting the other substrate to the partition walls through the adhesive mixture, the steps of: (2) manufacturing a substrate with the partition walls by forming the partition walls on one substrate; performing a washing by a dry treatment with respect to the thus manufactured substrate with the partition walls; applying an adhesive on the partition walls; and connecting the other substrate to the partition walls through the adhesive, or the steps of: (3) manufacturing the partition walls on one substrate by means of a pale color resist; applying an adhesive colored by a dark color on the partition walls; and connecting the other substrate to the partition walls through the adhesive.

A method of manufacturing an information display device having an information display panel, in which display media are sealed between two substrates, at least one substrate being transparent, and, in which the display media, to which an electrostatic field is applied, are made to move so as to display information such as an image, is characterized in that the improvement comprises, in the case of electrically connecting an electrode arranged on one substrate and an electrode arranged on the other substrate at an outer portion of an information display portion of the information display panel, the steps of: arranging an adhesive including conductive spacer particles having a diameter smaller than a distance between the electrodes arranged on the substrates at a predetermined portion between the substrates; and pressing a portion of the substrate, to which the adhesive is arranged, under pressure; so that the electrode arranged on one substrate is electrically connected to the electrode arranged on the other substrate.

An image display device which comprises an image display panel, in which particles or liquid powders as image display media are sealed in cells formed in an isolated manner from one another by partition walls between two opposed substrates, at least one of two substrates being transparent, and, in which the particles or the liquid powders, to which an electrostatic field is applied, are made to move so as to display an image, is characterized in that: (1) the partition walls are manufactured by a photolithography method, and a shape of the partition wall is a taper shape such that a width of an end portion at a side of a rear substrate is larger than that at a side of a front substrate; (3-1) a plurality of cells are arranged in such a manner that they do not correspond one for one to the positions of pixels for displaying the image; (3-2) a ratio of cell area/pixel area is formed to be smaller than 4; and (2) the image display panel is manufactured by: forming a first layer made of photosensitive color composite on one substrate; forming a second layer made of photosensitive composite, which has a light transmission higher than that of the first layer and a thickness larger than that of the first layer, on the first layer; performing an exposure through a mask with respect to the first layer and the second layer on the substrate; performing a developing and a washing with respect to the exposed first and second layers so as to form color partition walls on the substrate; and connecting the other substrate to the color partition walls.

An information display device has an information display plate where at least one or more kinds of particles are sealed between cells formed by a partition wall, the cells being between two opposite substrates at least either of which is transparent. At least either of electrodes is provided on a substrate, and an electric field is applied to the particles by the electrodes to move the particles, causing information such as an image to be displayed on the display plate. The surfaces of the substrates are smoothed by making D&#x2267;2H satisfied, with D being the diameter of a particle (a particle forming the particles), H the height of the electrodes. This thins the electrodes as much as possible (making the height of the electrodes small) and smoothes the surfaces of the substrates, and as a result, the information display device after an endurance test has an improved contrast ratio.

An anisotropically electroconductive film, which has a high reliability in its capacity for conducting electricity and also a good adhesion under such an adhesive condition that the film is heated at a temperature of 130&deg; C. or less for a short period of time, has a layer of an adhesive within which electroconductive particles are distributed. The adhesive is composed of a thermosetting resin composition including a base resin, a reactive compound, an organic peroxide and a reaction accelerating compound, and also the electroconductive particles incorporated into the thermosetting resin composition. The base resin is a polyacetalized resin which is obtained by acetalizing a polyvinyl alcohol. The reactive compound is at least one selected from a group consisting of acryloxy group-bearing compounds, methacryloxy group-bearing compounds and epoxy group-bearing compounds. The reaction accelerating compound is a compound which has a radically reactive group and alkali-reactive group as its end groups.
