A compact motorized roller, which is usable in a wide temperature range with high reliability and is manufactured at low cost. The motorized roller has a motor in a roller body. The motor can rotate the roller body. In such a motorized roller, the motor is a brushless DC motor, and a resolver is installed as a magnetic pole position detector of the brushless DC motor.

Motorized roller

In a general-purpose induction motor, a three-phase induction motor is provided with a terminal box containing terminals for electrical connection and a conversion module contained in the terminal box and coupled to the three-phase induction motor. The conversion module has a function of converting a plurality of types of single-phase AC into a single type of three-phase AC. With this structure, the general-purpose induction motor can be used with the single-phase AC.

General-purpose induction motor adaptable for a plurality of types of AC power supply

An embedded permanent magnet type induction motor has a rotor that is a lamination of a plurality of rotor core plates ( ). The rotor core plate is provided with a plurality of rotor slots ( ) each inclined by an angle &agr; with respect to a radial direction of the rotor core plate. The rotor has the axial length L being made of laminations divided into at least two equal portions with respect to its central axis. The divided laminations are combined with one another so that one of the divided laminations is opposed to another in inclination of the angle &agr; and the plurality of rotor slots of one of the divided laminations are respectively superposed on the rotor slots of another at at least their ends closer to the central axis of the rotor to form a skew angle &bgr;.
