The oxygen-absorbing package of the present invention is produced by packaging an oxygen-absorbing composition comprising, as an effective component, an iron powder containing a fine iron powder passing through a 200-mesh standard sieve in an amount of 5% by weight or less by an air-permeable packaging material using an automatic filling-packaging machine. By using the above oxygen-absorbing composition, the iron powder is prevented from being partially scattered to attach to the outer surface of the oxygen-absorbing package during the industrial packaging operation using the automatic filling-packaging machine of high productivity, thereby enabling to obtain an oxygen-absorbing package capable of preserving products for a long period of time without contamination and color change during the storage.

Iron powder-based oxygen-absorbing package and production method thereof

The present invention provides an oxygen indicator comprising: an oxygen indicating agent including a substrate and an oxygen indicator composition fixed at the surface of the substrate; and a single-sided self-adhesive plastic member having a self-adhesive layer on one side thereof, wherein the oxygen indicating agent is provided over the single-sided sedlf-adhesive plastic member by causing the oxygen indicator composition to closely contact the self-adhesive layer. Moreover, this invention provides a deoxidizer package with an oxygen indicating function, to which the oxygen indicator is pasted. This invention further provides a method and apparatus for fixing the oxygen indicator to an object.

An oxygen-absorbing composition for a low-humidity environment includes a reduced metal and an accelerator having at least one of iodide and bromide. The accelerator may have at least one of a metallic iodide salt and a metallic bromide salt. The reduced metal and the accelerator may be included in a dry state and the oxygen-absorbing composition may take the form of particles. The oxygen-absorbing composition may be a resin composition made by kneading an oxygen absorber with a thermoplastic resin.

Package and packaging method for aqueous liquid materials

An oxygen absorbing multi-layer film having a smooth surface is provided. The multi-layer film includes an oxygen permeating resin layer, a deoxidizing resin layer containing a particulate absorbing composition, a smoothing layer and a gas barrier layer. The oxygen absorbing multi-layer film is produced by extruding a resin composition containing a particulate oxygen absorbing composition to form a deoxidizing resin layer on a surface of a polyolefin resin forming a smoothing layer as a substrate for lamination, laminating an oxygen-permeating resin layer to the upper surface of the deoxidizing resin layer and laminating a gas barrier material on a lower surface of the smoothing layer. The multi-layer film has no protrusions through the film surface and has excellent heat-sealing and handling properties.

The present invention relates to novel oxygen absorbent comprising as main ingredients a 1,2-glycol, glycerine or sugar alcohol with the oxygen absorbent materials.

Oxygen absorbent

An oxygen-absorber accommodation parcel in which an air-impermeable material is superimposed on and peelably bonded to an air-permeable face of an air-permeable accommodation parcel which accommodates an oxygen-absorber compound. In the case of strip-formed continuous parcels in which accommodation parcels are connected side-by-side in one direction, a strip-formed air-impermeable material is bonded to the continuous parcels. During use, the air-impermeable material is peeled and removed from the strip-formed continuous parcels and, immediately thereafter, the strip-formed continuous parcels from which the air-impermeable material has been removed is cut along each connecting seal portion into individual oxygen-absorber accommodation parcels.

Method and apparatus for forming oxygen-absorber accommodation parcels

A deoxidizer package for use together with a food to be treated by a microwave irradiation comprises a deoxidation composition including iron powder, a metal halide, and a power filler having a small or no water-solubility and having a particle size of 60 mesh or finer and a specific surface area of 50 m.sup.2 /g or less, the powder filler being contained in of 100 volume parts or more for 100 volume parts of the iron powder. The deoxidizer package further has a gas permeable packaging material containing the deoxidation composition and having a gas permeability of 1,000 seconds/100cc or less in terms of Gurley gas permeability. A food pack can be prepared in which the deoxidizer package is packed together with a food in a container made of a material having an oxygen permeability of 200 ml/m.sup.2 24 hr atm or less. By various methods making use of the deoxidizer package in combination with microwave irradiation, freeze-storing and thawing a food, storing a food and heat-cooking a food can be effectively performed.
