A weather strip having first and second weather strip sections integrally formed as a unit. Each of the weather strip sections includes a sealing portion and an engagement portion. The sealing portion and the engagement portion of each of the weather strip sections are formed of first and second molding materials, respectively. The sealing portion of the first weather strip section having a cross-sectional configuration which is different from the sealing portion of the second weather strip section. The second weather strip section is harder than the first section.

Integrally formed weather strip

An irregularly shaped weather strip having first and second weather strip sections integrally formed as a unit. Each of the weather strip sections includes a sealing portion and an engagement portion. The sealing portion and the engagement portion of each of the weather strip sections are formed of first and second molding materials, respectively. The sealing portion of the first weather strip section having a cross-sectional configuration different from that of the sealing portion of the second weather strip section. Such a weather strip is manufactured by extruding the first and second molding materials. The sealing portion of the second weather strip section is modified by blowing hot air at a portion of the first molding material.

Process for manufacturing a weather strip

A process and apparatus for manufacturing a molding including a portion formed of hybrid of hard rubber and sponge rubber. The process includes steps of introducing the hard rubber and the sponge rubber into a conduit through a plurality of first ports and a plurality of second ports positioned between the first ports, thereby to form hybrid of the hard rubber and the sponge rubber in which a plurality of hard rubber filaments are uniformly embedded in the sponge rubber, and extruding the hybrid from a extrusion opening to form the hybrid portion. The apparatus includes a flow conduit for forming the hybrid, the flow conduit communicating with a sponge rubber feed pipe through a plurality of first ports and communicating with a hard rubber feed pipe through a plurality of second ports positioned between the first ports.

Apparatus and process for manufacturing a molding

A weather strip including a plurality of weather strip portions having different circumferential length and being integrally formed as a unit. Such a weather strip is manufactured by molding a starting product of the weather strip and subsequently forming or shaping the starting product. The forming of the starting product is applied on partly or throughout the entire length thereof.

A method of and apparatus for molding a tubular part consisting of two lengthwise continuous portions of different cross-sectional shapes. The method involves extending or retracting a movable die of the apparatus with respect to an extrusion molding port thereof, which is formed by inserting a core in a non-projecting state in an extrusion opening in a die body, so as to regulate an extrusion rate by discharging a part of a raw molding material, and extruding the molding material while controlling the cross-sectional shape of the outer circumferential surface of the material being extruded, by a molding surface at the front end of the movable die, whereby the crosssectional shapes of the inner and outer circumferential surfaces of the material being extruded are varied.

Method of molding tubular parts and apparatus for practicing the same

A molding including a portion formed of hard rubber, a portion formed of sponge rubber, and a portion formed of hydrid of the hard rubber and the sponge rubber. The hybrid is effectively formed by simultaneously introducing the hard and sponge rubber into a flow port communicated with an extruding opening of a molding die whereby the molding is formed in one extruding process and from only two types of rubber. Apparatus for manufacturing the molding includes a feed pipe for feeding the hard rubber, a feed pipe for feeding the sponge rubber, and a molding die having an extruding opening and at least three flow conduits communicating with the extruding opening.

Moldings and apparatus and process for manufacturing the same

A process for continuously producing an irregular shaped hollow molding includes the steps of extruding a molding material from a molding opening to form the first portion of the hollow molding, and continuously passing the molding material extruded from the molding opening through a molding clearance or molding opening to form the second portion of the hollow molding after the desired length of first portion is obtained. One of the forming steps of the first and second portions includes a step for discharging an excessive molding material.

An automobile door seal, which consists of an anchor portion to be attached to the frame of the sutomobile body and a tubular seal portion integrally connected with the anchor portion and achieving sealing by elastic deformation, the seal being capable of being attached along the peripheral edge of a door opening of the automobile body, seal having a first door-sealing portion having therealong an insertion groove extending in the direction of the length of the door seal and adjacent the integral connection of the anchor portion and the tubular seal portion and being for receiving the edge of a facing member on the interior of the automobile body, and the door seal having a second door-sealing portion which is ungrooved, the door sealing portions being integrally molded to each other for avoiding the presence of a joint between them.
