There is provided a method of producing ethylene oxide and ethylene glycol capable of reducing a concentration in discharged water of 1,4-dioxane contained generated in a step of producing ethylene oxide and ethylene glycol. A method of producing ethylene oxide and ethylene glycol includes a predetermined step of producing ethylene oxide, and a step of extracting a part of a column bottom liquid of an ethylene oxide stripping column in the step of producing ethylene oxide and supplying the extracted column bottom liquid to a by-produced ethylene glycol concentration column, concentrating ethylene glycol produced as a by-product in the step of producing ethylene oxide, and distilling and separating 1,4-dioxane produced as a by-product in the step of producing ethylene oxide, wherein the by-produced ethylene glycol concentration column is a divided wall distillation column.

Method of producing ethylene oxide and ethylene glycol

According to the present invention, there is provided means for suppressing the occurrence of corrosion on the inner tube side in a heat exchanger and enabling continuous production for a long time period in a process for producing ethylene oxide. An embodiment of the present invention relates to a method for producing ethylene oxide, the method including: supplying a raw material gas including ethylene, molecular oxygen, and a chlorine compound to an ethylene oxidation reactor; subjecting ethylene and molecular oxygen in the raw material gas to catalytic vapor phase oxidation in the ethylene oxidation reactor in the presence of a silver catalyst, and thereby producing a gas including ethylene oxide, water, and a chlorine compound; and cooling a gas to be cooled including water and the chlorine compound using a heat exchanger. According to this method, in the heat exchanger, the gas to be cooled including water to be cooled and a chlorine compound is cooled at a linear gas velocity on the heat exchanger inner tube side of 7 m/s or higher.

A method for producing ethylene oxide, including: a step of supplying an ethylene oxide-containing reaction product gas produced in an ethylene oxidation reaction step in an ethylene oxidation reactor, in which ethylene is subjected to contact gas-phase oxidation using a molecular oxygen-containing gas in the presence of a silver catalyst, to an ethylene oxide absorption column to bring the reaction product gas into contact with an absorption liquid supplied to the ethylene oxide absorption column, supplying an ethylene oxide-containing column bottom liquid of the ethylene oxide absorption column to an ethylene oxide purification system, and purifying ethylene oxide in the ethylene oxide purification system; and a step of supplying at least part of a carbon dioxide gas-containing gas discharged from a column top part of the ethylene oxide absorption column to a carbon dioxide gas absorption column to bring the carbon dioxide gas-containing gas into contact with an absorption liquid, extracting the resulting carbon dioxide gas-rich absorption liquid as a column bottom liquid of the carbon dioxide gas absorption column and supplying the same to an upper part of a carbon dioxide gas stripper column, and stripping a carbon dioxide gas from the carbon dioxide gas-rich absorption liquid and discharging the same from a column top part of the carbon dioxide gas stripper column as an exhaust gas, the concentration of molecular oxygen (O) in the molecular oxygen-containing gas supplied from outside the system into the system being 99.7% by volume or more.

In an information data recording and reproducing device which can record and reproduce input information data accurately, an error correction code of the product sign format is added to the input information data to form coded data. The coded data are then NRZI converted and recorded onto a recording medium together with identification data of a predetermined data pattern. Error detecting and correcting are performed on data reproduced from the recording medium so as to obtain the data recorded on the recording medium. The device comprises an NRZI converting circuit for outputting the identification data as they are, that is, without NRZI conversion, and for NRZI converting the coded data using the last bit of the identification data as an initial value, and a memory controlling circuit for controlling writing and reading of a memory, which is provided to convert the reproduction data from a series of inner codes into another series of outer codes, so that write address information for the memory which is obtained from the reproduction data may be compensated for when it is not obtained properly and outer code error detection and correction may be readily executed.

The unique pattern forming the synchronizing signal is constructed so as not to appear as a pattern in the combined data stream other that at the locations of the inserted synchronizing signal. As a result, random M.sup.2 coded data patterns are not erroneously detected to be a sync pattern, thereby avoiding a synchronization shift and the occurrence of a synchronization error. Accordingly, a correct and stable synchronization can be established so as to enable reproduction of an original data stream with high fidelity.

Magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus records and reproduces on or from a magnetic recording tape a high speed video signal obtained from a high speed scanning video camera having a scanning speed N times the scanning speed of a standard video camera generating a standard television video signal, where N is an integer.
