The invention provides a copolymerized polyester resin which contains terephthalic acid as a main component of a dicarboxylic acid component; and contains ethylene glycol as a main component of a diol component, wherein a content of neopentyl glycol is more than 15% by mole and not more than 40% by mole and a content of diethylene glycol is from 6 to 20% by mole when a total amount of the whole diol component is taken as 100% by mole, wherein a content of a cyclic dimer consisting of terephthalic acid, neopentyl glycol and diethylene glycol is 5000 ppm or less, and wherein a content of a cyclic trimer consisting of terephthalic acid and ethylene glycol is 5000 ppm or less.

Copolymerized polyester resin, molded product, and heat-shrinkable film

The invention provides a polyester resin for heat-shrinkable film which contains terephthalic acid as a main component of a dicarboxylic acid component, contains ethylene glycol as a main component of a diol component, and contains from 18 to 32% by mole of neopentyl glycol and from 7 to 15% by mole of diethylene glycol when a total amount of the whole diol component in total polyester resin components is taken as 100% by mole. The polyester resin has (i) an intrinsic viscosity (IV) of not less than 0.65 and less than 0.70 dl/g, (ii) a carboxyl end group concentration (AV) of 8-25 eq/t, (iii) a color b value of 1.0-8.0 in an L*a*b* color system, and (iv) aluminum and phosphorus atoms, wherein the aluminum atoms are present in an amount of 15-40 ppm, and wherein the molar ratio of the phosphorus atoms to the aluminum atoms is 1.8-2.6.

The invention provides an amorphous copolymerized polyester raw material for a film. The raw material contains ethylene terephthalate as a main constituent component, and contains from 18% by mol to 30% by mol of neopentyl glycol when a total amount of a glycol component in a total polyester resin component is taken as 100% by mol. The raw material contains from 8% by mol to 16% by mol of a constituent unit derived from diethylene glycol in the total amount (100% by mol) of the glycol component in the total polyester resin component. The raw material has an intrinsic viscosity of from 0.70 dl/g to 0.86 dl/g. The raw material has a melt viscosity of 200 Pa&#xb7;S or less, when measured at a shear rate of 6080/S at 250&#xb0; C.

The invention provides a polyester resin for heat-shrinkable film which contains terephthalic acid as a main component of a dicarboxylic acid component, contains ethylene glycol as a main component of a diol component, and contains from 18 to 32% by mol of neopentyl glycol and from 8 to 16% by mol of diethylene glycol when a total amount of the whole diol component in total polyester resin components is taken as 100% by mol. The polyester resin has an intrinsic viscosity (IV) of from 0.70 to 0.86 dl/g, a carboxyl end group concentration (AV) of from 8 to 25 eq/t, and a color b value of from 1.0 to 12.0 in an L*a*b color system. The invention also provides a heat-shrinkable film prepared from the aforementioned polyester resin, as well as a heat-shrinkable label and packaged product.

The present invention provides a copolymerized polyester resin which can produce an adhesive resin having an excellent color tone and an excellent durability when used for an adhesive to be applied to various uses. A copolymerized polyester resin, comprising, as constituting ingredients, a dicarboxylic acid ingredient containing 75 molar % or less of terephthalic acid and a diol ingredient containing two or more kinds of diols, characterized in that the copolymerized polyester resin satisfies the following (1) and (2): (1) A decrease in a reduced viscosity after the copolymerized polyester resin is subjected to a heat treatment in a nitrogen atmosphere at 275&#xb0; C. for 2 hours is 0.20 dl/g or less; and (2) A color b value is 5 or less.

The present invention is a polyester composition for a masterbatch, which comprises a polyester, a magnesium compound, an alkali metal compound and a phosphorus compound, wherein magnesium atoms, alkali metal atoms and phosphorus atoms are contained in amounts of 400 to 2700 ppm by mass, 40 to 270 ppm by mass and 200 to 1700 ppm by mass, respectively, in the polyester composition, the melt resistivity of the polyester composition is 0.005&#xd7;10to 0.05&#xd7;10&#x3a9;&#xb7;cm, and few contaminant particles are observed in the polyester composition under specified conditions. The polyester composition for a masterbatch has a satisfactorily low melt resistivity, contains few contaminant particles, and has an excellent color hue and excellent thermal stability.

The present invention is a copolymerized polyester resin which contains a dicarboxylic acid component and diol components as constituting components, wherein greater than or equal to 90 mol % of terephthalic acid is contained as the dicarboxylic acid component, 39 to 79 mol % of ethylene glycol, 20 to 60 mol % of neopentyl glycol and 1 to 5 mol % of diethylene glycol are contained as the diol components, the reduced viscosity of the resin is greater than or equal to 0.50 dl/g, the number of contaminants having a particle diameter of greater than or equal to 5 &#x3bc;m is less than or equal to 100 per 1 mmin a sample of the copolymerized polyester resin having a thickness of 0.8 to 0.9 mm. The copolymerized polyester resin has a higher degree of clarification than conventionally known copolymerized polyesters and also has excellent color hue and heat resistance.

Provided is a hydrolysis-resistant polyester film having a low acid value due to suppression of acid value-increase during film formation. The hydrolysis-resistant polyester film of the present invention is a polyester film comprising a polyester resin composition, wherein the polyester resin composition that forms the films comprises 0.03 to 6.7 eq/ton of hindered phenol structural units, an acid value of a polyester that forms the film is less than 25 eq/ton, and an intrinsic viscosity of a polyester that forms the film is more than 0.64 dL/g and not less than 0.90 dL/g.

The present invention is a polyester composition for a film, wherein the polyester composition comprises a masterbatch polyester composition including 1.0 to 2.0%, by mass of inorganic particles having an average particle diameter of 0.5 to 3.0 &#x3bc;m and having been prepared using a polycondensation catalyst containing, and an inorganic particle-free polyester resin in a mass ratio of 1:15 to 35; and wherein the polyester composition will cause little filter clogging and can provide a polyester film that is excellent in slipping properties, running properties and wear resistance and will suffer from little deterioration in quality due to defects or insoluble particles located on the film.

Heat-shrinkable polyester films suitable for label use, wherein the value of tan &dgr; for dynamic viscoelasticity in a main shrinkage direction of the film is 0.15 or higher at 65&deg; C. and takes a maximum of 0.40 or higher at a temperature of 65&deg; C. to 100&deg; C. both inclusive, and the heat shrinkability in the main shrinkage direction of the film after treatment in hot water at 80&deg; C. for 10 seconds is 30% or higher, have excellent shrinkage characteristics over a wide range of temperature extending from low temperatures to high temperatures, particularly in the low temperature range, which may cause only rare occurrence of shrinkage spots, wrinkles, strains, longitudinal sinking, and other defects during heat shrinkage, and which may further have excellent break resistance.

Since an inorganic and/or organic antibacterial agent and a hydrophilic substance are used in combination in this invention to produce an antibacterial composition, the intrinsic antibacterial activity of the inorganic or organic antibacterial agent is markedly increased, so that the antibacterial agent used even in a low concentration shows a high antibacterial activity. High antibacterial moldings can be obtained at a relatively low cost by laminating the antibacterial composition of the invention on an inorganic or organic substrate.

A polyester film containing organic particles comprising a matrix polymer and fine polymer particles is provided. The fine particles are interpenetrating network type cross-linked fine polymer particles, each particle containing, in its cross-linked polymer network, a hydrophilic polymer in an amount of 1 to 40% by weight which is not substantially bonded to the cross-linked polymer chemically. The cross-linked polymer is a vinyl type polymer or a siloxane type polymer comprising as its main components a polymerizable monomer and at least one cross-linking monomer contained in an amount of 5% by weight or more based on the total weight of the monomers. The interpenetrating network type cross-linked fine polymer particles have an average particle size in the range of 0.01 to 5 .mu.m and are contained in the film in an amount of 0.001 to 5.0% by weight.

A biaxially oriented polyester film of a polyester composed of an aromatic dicarboxylic acid as a major acid component and at least one glycol component, said polyester film containing 100-20000 ppm of a particulate compound oxide composed of two or more metals (selected from Al, B, Si, Ti, Zr, W, and Fe) and oxygen whose average primary particle diameter is 0.005-0.1 .mu.m. The compound oxide contains 0.1-5 wt % by weight of chlorine. The polyester film finds use as a base film for magnetic tape with improved scratch resistance.
