A connection portion extends from an operation substrate, and a retaining groove of an elastic body is retained in a retaining hole of the connection portion. When a shaft portion of a retaining member is inserted into a through hole of the elastic body and screwed into an internally-threaded hole of a panel, an upper elastic portion of the elastic body is interposed between the connection portion and a support portion of the panel, and a lower elastic portion of the elastic body is interposed between the connection portion and an facing member. When an operation surface of the operation substrate is pressed, the connection portion rotates in a direction and the upper elastic portion and the lower elastic portion of the elastic body are compressed, whereby an appropriate operation reaction force and an elastic return force can be exerted.

A coordinate input device including: an upper film substrate; a first electrode layer formed on a rear surface of the upper film substrate; a lower film substrate; a second electrode layer formed on a surface of the lower film substrate, the surface facing the first electrode layer; and a transparent dielectric film held and bonded between the upper and lower film substrates. In the coordinate input device, the upper and lower film substrates and the first and second electrode layers are transparent.

An operating device which enables various input operations. A two-direction input device is provided in front of a flat input member. When an operation button is moved in a Y or Y direction, a switch device is turned ON. In a case where one of the switch devices is ON, the operation button can be pressed, and at this time, a press switch device is turned ON. In use of this two-direction input device, a series of operations such as selection and determination of menu displayed on a display screen can be quickly performed.

A coordinate data input device is fabricated by stacking a sensing board having a film provided with a plurality of parallel x-electrodes on its front surface, a plurality of parallel y-electrodes extending perpendicularly to the first electrodes on its back surface, and through holes formed at one end of each electrodes, and a printed wiring board provided with a plurality of through holes at positions corresponding to the through holes formed in the film of the sensing board at the ends of the first and the second electrodes, and a circuitry formed on its back surface, for driving and controlling the first and the second electrodes of the sensing board. Conductive films are formed on the side surfaces of the through holes of the sensing board and those of the printed wiring board so as to electrically connect the first and the second electrodes of the sensing board to the circuitry of the printed wiring board.

Coordinate data input device and method of fabricating the same

A resist film and a bonding layer are disposed between a sensor substrate and a PCB, and a cutout is formed in the resist film and the bonding layer at the part where the through hole of the sensor substrate communicates with the through hole of a PCB to form an air vent communicating with the outside of the edge part of the laminated substrates. When the conductive material is filled in the through hole from the obverse surface of the sensor substrate, the air in the through hole is released from the air vent to thereby reliably fill the conductive material in the through hole, which can reliably bring the electrode and the land 28 into conduction.

A coordinate data input device comprises: a sensing board fabricated by forming a plurality of parallel first electrodes on the front surface of a film and forming a plurality of parallel second electrodes perpendicularly to the first electrodes on the back surface of the film, and capable of providing a current corresponding to an electrostatic capacitance between the respective groups of the first and the second electrodes; a resist layer of a thickness equal to that of the first electrodes, formed in regions in the front surface of the film in which the first electrodes are not formed; and a protective sheet adhesively bonded to the respective surfaces of the filling layer and the first electrodes.

Coordinate data input device

A coordinate input apparatus has a film sensor substrate. An X electrode array having a plurality of electrodes in parallel to each other is disposed on the obverse surface of the sensor substrate. A Y electrode array having a plurality of electrodes in parallel to each other is disposed on the reverse surface of the sensor substrate in a direction orthogonal to the X electrode array. A first through hole is formed at one end of the X electrode array, while a first land is formed at one end of the Y electrode array. A second land is disposed on the sensor substrate so that it can be electrically connected to the first through hole.
