Disclosed is a thermal transfer image receiving sheet comprising a substrate sheet, an intermediate layer provided on at least one surface side of the substrate sheet and a dye receptor layer provided on the surface of the intermediate layer, wherein the substrate sheet is a pulp paper, the intermediate layer is formed from an organic solvent solution of a resin, and the dye receptor layer is formed from an aqueous resin liquid. By virtue of this structure, the thermal transfer image receiving sheet can be prevented from occurrence of curling caused by temperature change. Also disclosed is a thermal transfer image receiving sheet comprising a substrate sheet, an intermediate layer provided on at least one surface side of the substrate sheet and a dye receptor layer provided on the surface of the intermediate layer, wherein the intermediate layer is formed from either an acrylic resin or a resin at least a part of which is crosslinked. By virtue of this structure, the thermal transfer image receiving sheet can be excellent in smoothness, strength, cushioning properties and writing properties, and further can give an image of high density and high resolution.

An electrode plate for a secondary battery with a nonaqueous electrolyte composed of a collector and an active material layer which is formed of at least an active material and a binder disposed on the collector, and the electrode plate is provided with a terminal mounting portion provided with a collector surface exposed to mount a terminal. In such electrode plate, the exposed collector surface of the terminal mounting portion has the same shape and size substantially as those of an area to which the terminal is actually mounted. The electrode plate may further be provided with an identification mark made by forming the active material layer in shape of pattern on an area at which the collector surface is exposed or by exposing the collector surface in the shape of pattern on an area at which the collector is covered with the active material layer.

There is provided a receptor layer transfer sheet which is capable of providing images of high quality on a transfer receiving material having an unsmooth surface, even when it is used in combination with a conventional thermal transfer material. There is also provided a thermal transfer sheet which is capable of providing images of high quality on a transfer receiving material having an unsmooth surface. There is further provided a thermal transfer method and a thermal transfer apparatus which are capable of providing images of high quality and do not require a special detection mark provided in (or on) a thermal transfer sheet to be used in combination therewith.

A thermal transfer image-receiving sheet including a substrate and a resin layer formed on one surface of the substrate. The resin layer includes at least a dye receiving layer and a heat foamable foaming agent having a volumetric hollowness of 50% or more in a foamed state. The resin layer has a hollowness ranging from 10 to 90% in a foamed state.

An image forming method using a thermal transfer, wherein a dye-receptive layer on a transfer film is transferred to a print sheet and then dye layers on a dye transfer film are superposed on the dye-receptive layer and subjected to an image forming operation of a thermal head so that an image is transferred to the dye-receptive layer. In order to transfer the dye-receptive layer to the print sheet uniformly to enable subsequent formation of an excellent dye image, the quantity of thermal energy being applied by the thermal head to the transfer film is decreased with elapse of time. This principle can also be used for transferring a protective layer to the print sheet on which a dye image has been formed.
