An electronic pen cartridge includes a pen tip that is configured to protrude outside of an electronic pen electronic pen casing through an opening of the electronic pen casing, an electronic circuit that transfers signals to a position detecting sensor, and a first connector that is joined to a second connector disposed in the electronic pen casing. The first connector includes plural terminals insulated from each other, and each of the terminals is electrically connected to the electronic circuit. The first connector and the second connector are joined through insertion of a fitting protrusion of a first one of the first connector and the second connector into a fitting recess of a second one of the first connector and the second connector in an axis center direction of the electronic pen casing, and circular annular conductor contacts are included in the first connector or the second connector.

A position indicator includes a first resonance circuit including an inductor and a capacitor, a second resonance circuit including the first resonance circuit and a variation device configured to vary a resonance frequency or a phase of the second resonance circuit in response to an act of a user, and a switch circuit configured to perform changeover between the first resonance circuit and the second resonance circuit. The switch circuit is changed over such that, when no signal is received from outside of the position indicator and when a signal other than a predetermined signal is received from outside of the position indicator, the second resonance circuit is selected, and when the predetermined signal is received from outside of the position indicator, the first resonance circuit is selected, and the selected resonance circuit is configured to electromagnetically couple with a conductor of a sensor of the position detection apparatus.

A magnetic core coil has a core formed of a magnetic material, a coil wound around the core, and two terminals formed of a conductive material. The two terminals are fixed to the core, and first portions of the two terminals extend from one end of the core in an axial direction of the core. A first end and a second end of the coil are electrically connected to the first portions of the two terminals which protrude from the one end of the core in the axial direction of the core. The magnetic core coil can be made small in thickness (radial size) and size, and can be produced in a reduced number of production steps and at low cost.

A position indicator includes a capacitor having a capacitance that changes in correspondence to a force applied to one end part of a housing. The capacitor is configured by a pressure detecting chip that includes a first electrode and a second electrode disposed opposite to the first electrode with a predetermined distance defined therebetween to have capacitance Cv formed between the first electrode and the second electrode. The capacitance Cv changes when the force applied to the one end part of the housing is transmitted to the first electrode to thereby change a relationship (e.g., the distance) between the two electrodes. A pressure transmitting member having predetermined elasticity is disposed on the first electrode such that the force applied to the one end part of the housing is transmitted to the first electrode of the semiconductor element via the pressure transmitting member.

Position indicator

A capacitive pressure sensing semiconductor device is provided, which has pressure resistance against pressure applied by a pressing member and can detect the pressure surely and efficiently. The pressure sensing semiconductor device includes a pressure detecting part, which detects pressure as a change in capacitance, and a package that receives the pressure detecting part within. The pressure detecting part includes a first electrode and a second electrode disposed to oppose the first electrode, with a determined distance therebetween. Capacitance is formed between the first electrode and the second electrode, and changes according to a change in said distance caused by pressure transmitted to the first electrode by a pressing member. The package also includes a pressure transmitting member that transmits, to the first electrode of the pressure detecting part, the pressure applied by the pressing member.

Capacitive pressure sensing semiconductor device

A position detecting apparatus transmits position detecting signals from internal and external transmission coils, which are electrically connected to each other and are wound in opposite directions. The signals are transmitted to a position indicator that is housed within a pen-shaped input member. Since the internal and external transmission coils are wound in opposite directions, the position indicator can be efficiently excited in the entire area of a sensor unit including the end portion thereof. The position indicator receives the position detecting signals and transmits position indicating signals indicating a position. Sensor coils receive the signals from the position indicator. The position detecting apparatus detects the position of the position indicator based on the signals detected by the sensor coils.
