An airbag device includes an inflator configured to generate gas, a first panel including an edge portion, a first fixing portion, and a second fixing portion, the second fixing portion facing the first fixing portion, a regulating member provided inside the airbag. The regulating member includes a first portion fixed to the first fixing portion, and a second portion fixed to the second fixing portion. A length from the first fixing portion to the second fixing portion is longer than a length from the first portion to the second portion. The airbag includes main bag, and a sub inflation portion. In a state where the airbag is inflated and deployed, gas from the inflator is introduced into the main bag, the first panel faces an occupant, and the sub inflation portion receives the occupant.

Airbag device

A side airbag device capable of restricting an occupant from moving to the inner side in the vehicle width direction while restraining the head of the occupant is inflatable and deployable in a space beside an occupant seated in a vehicle seat. The side airbag device includes an inflator configured to generate a gas and a bag-shaped airbag inflatable and deployable in response to the gas upon activation of the inflator to protect a lateral portion of the occupant. The airbag includes a torso protection portion, and a head protection portion configured to be provided above the torso protection portion and inflatable and deployable between an upper portion of a shoulder of the occupant and a lateral portion of a head of the occupant. The head protection portion is bendable at an acute angle relative to the torso protection portion in an inflated and deployed state of the airbag.

Side airbag device

A side airbag device is to be attached to a side portion of a seat back and includes an inflator and a bag-shaped airbag. The airbag includes a first inflation part at which a gas ejection hole of the inflator is disposed and configured to be inflated and deployed beside a body of an occupant, and a second inflation part communicating with the first inflation part and configured to be inflated and deployed beside a head of the occupant. A portion of the first inflation part is configured to be inflated and deployed above a console box and to come into contact with an upper surface of the console box. In a state where the airbag is folded, the second inflation part is folded to overlap the first inflation part such that the second inflation part is arranged inward of the first inflation part in a vehicle width direction.

A side airbag device includes an inflator; and a bag-shaped airbag inflatable and deployable in response to a gas upon activation of the inflator. The airbag includes a torso protection portion inflatable and deployable in a space beside a torso of the occupant, a support portion provided on a console box side of the torso protection portion and configured to be pushed onto a top surface of the console box in an inflated and deployed state, and a hip protection portion inflatable and deployable between a hip of the occupant and a lateral portion of the console box. The support portion and the hip protection portion are defined by a continuous chamber. The inflator is positioned from above to below the support portion in a side view of the vehicle. The airbag is mounted on a lateral portion of the vehicle seat via the inflator.

A side airbag device includes an airbag including a first inflation portion fixed to a seat and a second inflation portion inclining toward an occupant with respect to the first inflation portion. The airbag includes an occupant side panel disposed on an occupant side, a non-occupant side panel disposed opposite the occupant side panel, and a strip connection panel connecting a peripheral edge of the occupant side panel and a peripheral edge of the non-occupant side panel. The non-occupant side panel is spaced from the occupant side panel in a vehicle width direction. The connection panel includes a bend portion between a first peripheral edge portion connected to a first part of the peripheral edge of the occupant side panel defining the first inflation portion and a second peripheral edge portion connected to a second part of the peripheral edge of the occupant side panel defining the second inflation portion, or in the second peripheral edge portion.

The side airbag device includes an inflator and a side airbag that is stored in a folded state in a side portion of a seatback of a vehicle seat and is inflatable and deployable in a space between a vehicle sidewall and a side portion of an occupant. The side airbag includes an outer bag and an inner bag. The inner bag houses the inflator and is disposed at a rear portion of the outer bag along an extending direction of the seatback. The outer bag is provided with a vent hole configured to communicate with an outside. The inner bag is provided with a gas circulating hole configured to communicate with the outer bag. The gas circulating hole is disposed at a position to be blocked by the outer bag when the side airbag in an inflated and deployed state is pressed between the occupant and the vehicle sidewall.

The curtain airbag device includes: an inflator; an airbag; and a restricting member. The airbag includes an outer circumferential joining portion forming a bag body, a gas inlet portion, and a joining portion which is arranged in a region surrounded by the outer circumferential joining portion. The airbag, while being stored in a folded state, includes a roll folding portion formed by folding the bag body into a roll shape with a vehicle interior side base fabric facing outside, and a flip folding portion formed by folding back the bag body with the vehicle interior side base fabric facing inside. The restricting member includes a tip portion fixed to a lower side of a sidewall of a vehicle, and a base end portion joined to a vehicle exterior side base fabric located at the flip folding portion or an upper end portion of the roll folding portion.

Curtain airbag device

A side airbag device includes an inflator and an airbag. The airbag includes a deployable bag and a separator that separates the bag into a first chamber and a second chamber. The first chamber includes a support inflation portion and a protection inflation portion. The support inflation portion is deployable in such a shape that it gradually broadens from its lower end portion toward its upper end portion along a seat-side portion. The protection inflation portion is deployable at one end side of the support inflation portion. The inflator is disposed to supply a gas into the support inflation portion. The separator includes at least one gas distribution hole in a portion thereof that separates the support inflation portion of the first chamber and the second chamber from each other. The second chamber is provided below the first chamber.

A side airbag device () protects the passenger () in the lateral space (). The airbag () has an attaching portion () attached to a side section () of a seat (), and is folded so as to be able to deploy from the side section () toward the lateral space (). The inflator () generates gas and thereby deploys the airbag () to a leading end portion () in the deployment direction (F). The airbag () has a bellows-like folded section in which a part () between the leading end portion () and the attaching portion () is folded in a bellows-like shape. The bellows-like folded section is disposed in front of the attaching portion () in the deployment direction (F), and is folded double toward the back of the deployment direction (F) so that a portion () close to the attaching portion () is positioned therein.

An inflator that supplies gas in the event of a vehicle emergency and a curtain airbag that is inflated and deployed by gas introduction from the inflator are included. The curtain airbag includes an airbag body obtained by sewing a pair of base cloths together. The airbag body has, in the portion in which the gas is introduced from the inflator, a sewn part obtained by sewing a pair of edges of the base cloths. The airbag body further includes a protective cloth sewn to each of the pair of edges along the sewn part such that the sewn part is covered from the inside of the airbag body.

Gas supplied from gas discharge ports is guided without providing a metal guide tube on the inflator of an airbag device, and the airbag is protected from the gas. An inner tube () is connected to a gas inlet () formed in an airbag (), and an inflator () around which a fabric member () is wound is inserted into and attached to a gas passage () formed in the inner tube (). The fabric member () is wound around the inflator () several times into a tubular shape such that it covers a plurality of gas discharge ports () provided in the inflator () and such that one end thereof opens to the inside of the airbag (), and the fabric member () is inserted into the inner tube (). When the inflator () is activated, gas from the gas discharge ports () is guided to the inside of the inner tube () by the fabric member () and is guided and supplied to air chambers () and () through the gas passage (), thereby inflating and deploying the airbag ().

In an airbag device, a decorative member is prevented from being scattered with a simple structure at the time of expansion of an airbag. That is, a concave part of the airbag cover () on which the decorative member is mounted is connected to an unmoved connection member while freely separable from other portions at the time of expansion of an airbag. To that end, there are formed, on the inner faces of the airbag cover (), a circular tear line Lc for partitioning the concave part () and a plurality of tear lines Lextending outward from the tear line Lc in the radial direction thereof for forming each of opening pieces (). Further, attachment pieces () of respective opening pieces () are fastened to plastic deformable attachment parts of a base plate by screws. With this structure, the concave part of the airbag cover can be immovably held at the time of spread of the airbag.

In an air bag deviceagainst a side collision which can be expanded and spread out in a gap between an outside portion of a seat of a vehicle and a wall opposite thereto owing to gas generated by an inflatorin emergency situations so as to obtain the air bag device at a low cost which system is provided with plural air chambers having difference in expansion timing and pressure depending on portions of a body of a crew, an air bagis structured by a lower air chamberprovided with the inflator and an upper air chamber, a partition unitfor partitioning the lower air chamberand the upper air chamberis structured by a cloth sewn to the air bag, and a communication holewhich introduces gas from the inflatorfrom the lower air chamberinto the upper air chamber and is closed when subjected to pressure of the upper chamber as the pressure of the lower air chamber is reduced is formed in the cloth.

In an airbag (), a length extending from a sewn portion () to a right periphery of a presser plate () is set such that a length (L) is shorter than a length (L) wherein the length (L) is at an attachment side base cloth () side and the length (L) is at a cloth-like piece () side. When the airbag () is expanded in emergency situations, the attachment side base cloth () is expanded while it moves away outwardly from the cloth-like piece (), thereby opening a vent hole (), so that the airbag () is eased in abrupt expansion directing toward an occupant. When the airbag () becomes a sufficient size to protect the occupant, it bends instantaneously a retaining plate () to release the parallel portion (B) of the cloth-like piece () from the presser plate (), so that the cloth-like piece () is brought into intimate contact with the attachment side base cloth () to close the vent hole (), thereby protecting the occupant with reliability.
