A mount structure for a fuel cell stack includes a first bracket member supporting and fixing the fuel cell stack to a first installation member, and a second bracket member supporting and fixing the fuel cell stack to a second installation member. A part of the second bracket includes a constricted portion having low strength in comparison with other portions of the second bracket member.

Mount structure for fuel cell stack

A second end plate constituting a fuel cell stack is provided with a cooling medium supply manifold member and a cooling medium discharge manifold member. The second end plate is also provided with a mount member that affixes the fuel cell stack to an automobile body frame and covers the cooling medium discharge manifold member.

Fuel cell stack and mount structure therefor

A fuel cell includes a resin-framed membrane electrode assembly, first and second separators, and a resin frame member. The resin frame member is provided to surround an outer periphery of a solid polymer electrolyte membrane. The first and second separators sandwich the resin-framed membrane electrode assembly therebetween in a stacking direction to define a reactant gas flow channel between each of the first and second separators and the resin-framed membrane electrode assembly. The first and second separators include a reactant gas manifold hole which passes through the first and second separators in the stacking direction. The resin frame member includes a bridge portion having connecting flow channels connecting the reactant gas flow channel and the reactant gas manifold hole. At least one of the connecting flow channels has a sloped surface.

Fuel cell

A group of fuel gas system devices are provided at a first end plate of a fuel cell system through a block member. A cover member is provided at the first end plate to cover the group of the fuel gas system devices. Support rod members are provided at the first end plate. The support rod members protrude outward in a stacking direction to support the cover member at the front ends of the support rod members.

Fuel cell system

A fuel cell includes a membrane electrode assembly and a metal separator. The metal separator is stacked with the membrane electrode assembly. A reactant gas passage is provided between the membrane electrode assembly and the metal separator to supply a reactant gas along an electrode surface. The metal separator includes a reactant gas communication hole to communicate with the reactant gas passage. The metal separator further includes a plurality of groove groups each having a plurality of grooves press-formed to allow the reactant gas communication hole to communicate with the reactant gas passage. The grooves adjacent to each other are spaced apart by a first distance. The groove groups adjacent to each other are spaced apart by a second distance larger than the first distance.

A fuel cell includes a plurality of power generation cells each having a first separator. The separator has a fuel gas flow field. A fuel gas supply passage extends through one corner of the power generation cell in the stacking direction, a fuel gas flowing through the fuel gas supply passage into a fuel gas flow field. An inlet buffer is provided upstream of the fuel gas flow field. The fuel gas supply passage and the inlet buffer are connected by a plurality of inlet connection grooves. The inlet connection grooves are inclined from a direction perpendicular to a wall surface of the fuel gas supply passage toward the center of the fuel gas flow field.

A fuel cell includes a membrane electrode assembly and separators which are stacked. A fuel gas channel allows a fuel gas to flow along a surface of one of a pair of electrodes. An oxidant gas channel allows an oxidant gas to flow along a surface of another of a pair of electrodes. A channel width of the oxidant gas channel in a central portion of the oxidant gas channel in a channel width direction is larger than a channel width of the oxidant gas channel in both end portions of the oxidant gas channel in the channel width direction. A channel width of the fuel gas channel in a central portion of the fuel gas channel in a channel width direction is smaller than a channel width of the fuel gas channel in both end portions of the fuel gas channel in the channel width direction.
