A control unit is arranged for a synchronous motor formed of a rotor provided with a magnet. The control unit includes a 180&deg;-conduction drive unit for performing 180&deg;-conduction drive of the synchronous motor, a 120&deg;-conduction drive unit for performing 120&deg;-conduction drive of the synchronous motor, a rotation speed calculating unit for calculating the motor rotation speed, a rotation-speed-vs.-efficiency table unit storing an efficiency relative to a rotation speed of the motor, and a drive method selecting unit for selecting an optimum drive method for the current rotation speed based on the current rotation speed and information stored in the rotation-speed-vs.-efficiency table unit. Thereby, the synchronous motor performs 120&deg;- or 180&deg;-conduction drive in accordance with the current rotation speed to achieve the drive with an optimum efficiency.

Motor control device capable of driving a synchronous motor with high efficiency and high reliability

A motor current detection amplifier detects a motor current's areas in two phase periods with reference to a motor voltage. A controlling microcomputer computed the ratio of the motor current areas of the two phase periods and provides the same as phase difference information which is in turn used to control a motor drive voltage to apply a sine wave of a predetermined period to the motor's coil to allow 180&deg;-driving including a sine wave conduction resistant to noise and achieving a reduced cost hike.

Motor control device and motor control method

The magnetic recording reproducing apparatus is of a type in which magnetic tape is loaded approximately parallel to a reference plane of a cassette, and in a tape guide group on magnetic tape take up side of a rotary head drum, a first take up side inclined guide on which magnetic tape is wound around immediately after it moves away from rotary head, a take up side guide roller arranged downstream and a second take up side inclined guide are included. Height of a lead formed at a fixed portion of rotary head drum is set such that it becomes lower than the lower end of the magnetic tape for its entire region, at the time of loading and unloading of the magnetic tape. By this structure, contact between the lower end of the magnetic tape and the edge of the lead at the time of loading and unloading of the magnetic tape can be avoided, and therefore damage on the magnetic tape caused by the lead edge can be prevented, and the life of the tape can be made longer.

A cassette loading device including the following configuration: one cassette holder is fitted into the other cassette holder so as to slide in the cassette's direction of movement relative to the other. The other cassette holder is moved in linkage with the cassette pushing operation for magnetic tape cassette inserted into the one cassette holder, with a different amount of stroke from the pushed amount of stroke for the magnetic tape cassette inserted in the one cassette holder. Also, a timing change lever which is rotationally supported at a central portion across the length, is adapted to selectively become engaged at its distal end with the magnetic tape cassette held in the cassette holder. In the terminal end of the movement of the cassette, the opening which is provided at the other end of the timing change lever is detected so that the cassette in-pulling operation starts at the timing of the detection.

Cassette loading device

A loading lever having loading lever pins is fixed on a main chassis. Loading arms having loading arm depressed portions are rotatably attached to a slide chassis. The loading arm depressed portion engages with the loading lever pin, and the loading arm depressed portion is engaged with the loading lever pin, and in this state, the slide chassis moves in the direction of the arrow B. Therefore, loading arms move in the direction of the arrows J and K. Since the loading arms are rotated, it becomes unnecessary to slide the loading lever, and therefore, the structure of the magnetic recording reproducing apparatus can be made simple.
