A television receiver having a liquid crystal display device includes a receiver having a electromagnetically shielded case and a receiving circuit provided in the shielded case and electrically connected to an antenna for producing audio signals and video signals. A liquid crystal display panel of the liquid crystal display device is electromagnetically shielded by a transparent and conductive shielding film for shielding the liquid crystal display panel.

Television receiver having a liquid crystal display device

A television receiver employs a liquid crystal display panel mounted in a unit which can be set into either a closed position in which the display panel is disposed within a recessed portion of the case of the television set, and an opened position in which ambient light passes through the display panel to be reflected from a mirror towards the viewer. In conjunction with this arrangement, operating control members are positioned to facilitate one-hand operation of the receiver, and the largest circuit components and batteries are positioned with respect to the display panel and control members such as to minimize the overall size of the receiver.

A method of assembling a semiconductor integrated circuit in which a semiconductor integrated circuit chip with bumps is bonded to a flexible film circuit substrate. An electronic timepiece including a battery, a drive motor, a drive, a display, and electronic circuits for driving said motor. The motor is a pulse motor and comprises a core, coil, yoke and rotor. The rotor includes a worm gear having worm teeth which engage with a gear wheel. The teeth on the worm gear are arranged and configured such that the initial and final portions of each tooth which engage with the gear wheel are parallel to the plane of rotation of the rotor thereby preventing torque applied to the gear wheel from being transmitted to the rotor.

Motor and drive for a timepiece

An extremely thin digital electronic timepiece comprising an electrooptical display element is disclosed. The timepiece essentially consists of a connector frame, supporting plate, flexible film-shaped circuit substrate and base plate. These constitutional members are manufactured in mass production scale by injection molding process, press working process etc. The circuit substrate is sandwiched between the supporting plate and the base plate. A portion of the connector frame is used to secure together the constitutional members into one integral body.
