In an automatic plate exchange/plate registration method and apparatus, a current position of a plate cylinder on which a plate to be exchange is mounted is stored. The plate cylinder is reset to an origin. Automatic plate exchange is performed when the plate cylinder is at the origin. The plate cylinder is automatically returned to the stored current position.

To a ferrite composition of ferric oxide and divalent metal oxides are added 0.01-5.0 mol % of Li.sub.2 O and 0.01-0.5 mol % of TiO.sub.2, SnO.sub.2, and/or GeO.sub.2. The ferrite has sufficiently high density, mechanical strength and electromagnetic properties even when it is sintered at a relatively low temperature of up to 950.degree. C.

A ferrite composition comprising ferrite, borosilicate glass, and optionally boron oxide can be fired at a relatively low temperature of up to 950.degree. C. into a sintered body having improved mechanical strength and electromagnetic properties. The sintered ferrite body is used to form a chip inductor. The inductor is combined with a capacitor to form a composite LC part.

A thick film complex electronic component mounted on a substrate including an inductance, capacitance and/or resistance by a conductive film and a magnetic film on a ceramic substrate is improved by novel magnetic film. The magnetic film is produced by depositing paste of a raw material of ferrite on the substrate, and the paste together with the substrate are sintered at a relatively low temperature in the range of 600.degree. C. and 1200.degree. C. The present magnetic film which is sintered after the raw material of ferrite is deposited on the ceramic substrate has higher permeability and is mechanically stronger.

A density measurement position adjustment method includes the steps of setting a reference sheet on which a predetermined pattern is printed on an X-Y coordinate table, designating at least three reference points within the pattern of the reference sheet, determining coordinate positions on the X-Y coordinate table of the three reference points, and memorizing coordinate positions at density measurement reference points within the pattern of the reference sheet with a single point and two intersecting lines obtained by computation based on the coordinate positions of the reference points being as an origin, an X-axis and a Y-axis, respectively. This method further includes the steps of setting a sample sheet on which the same pattern as the pattern on the reference sheet is printed on the X-Y coordinate table, detecting coordinate positions on the X-Y coordinate table of corresponding reference points within the pattern on the sample sheet, determining a detection origin, a detection X-axis and a detection X-axis by computation based on the coordinate positions of the corresponding reference points on the sample sheet, and correcting coordinate positions of density measurment points, which correspond to the density measurement points on the reference sheet, within the pattern on the sample sheet so that the detection origin, detection X-axis and detection Y-axis are in correspondence with the origin, X-axis and Y-axis, respectively.

Method of adjusting density measurement position

There is disclosed a measurement position synchronization method applied to a scanning densitometer to photoelectrically scan a control strip comprising a plurality of color patches of respective colors printed on a paper to thereby calculate densities of the color patches every respective colors. This method comprises: the steps of responding to a measured values obtained by scanning a color patch of a specified color to calculate points which have varied respectively by predetermined values on the side of a reference level included in the measured values; determining the intermediate point of the both points calculated to be an actual measurement central point of the color patch of the specified color; and carrying out synchronization of measurement positions in accordance with a difference between a scheduled central point and the actual measurement central point. This method is applicable also to a scanning densitometer to photoelectrically scan a control patch comprising a plurality of color patches of respective colors printed on a paper and formed every ranges divided in a transverse direction to thereby calculate densities of the color patches every said ranges and every respective colors.

A side lay position control apparatus for a sheet-fed printing press, includes a switch for setting a distance from a reference point of the sheet-fed printing press to a side lay and a fine adjustment length with reference to the distance, a CPU for calculating an actual distance from the reference point to the side lay in accordance with the distance from the reference point to the side lay and the fine adjustment length, and a driver for moving the side lay in accordance with the actual distance.

Double sheet detection method and apparatus of a sheet-fed rotary press, wherein a theoretical reference value is set as an intermediate value between a first theoretical amount of light transmitted through one sheet and a second theoretical amount of light transmitted through two sheets, respectively; the theoretical reference value is subtracted from the first amount of light to obtain a theoretical subtracted value; the theoretical subtracted value is subtracted from an actual amount of light transmitted through one sheet to obtain an actual reference value; and an actual amount of light transmitted through a current sheet is compared with the actual reference value to perform double sheet detection.
