A pressing member has a pressing section capable of pressing semiconductor devices with different shapes having an external shape within a predetermined range. The pressing section is held, via a coupling pin, by paired arm members coupled to paired lever members rotationally movably supported by a socket main body section. When the pressing member is in a pressing state, the opposite ends of the coupling pin are held by a circular arc surface portion of holding walls. When the pressing member is in a standby state, the opposite ends of the coupling pin are disengaged from the circular arc surface portion of the holding walls.

An apparatus for attracting mites that to it possible to easily and practically confirm the presence of mites, which are allergenic sources in houses, by the naked eye. A see-through portion is provided so that mites attracted to a mite attracting sheet for attracting mites can be confirmed. An attractant miticide and a capturing device containing the miticide to capture and exterminate mites that are implicated as a source of allergens in the home, without polluting the inhabited environment. The miticide is a mixture of a non-toxic feeding attractant, a non-toxic aromatic attractant and a non-toxic miticidal substance, which contains non-toxic feeding attractants such as beer yeast, chocolate, cheese, food scraps, rice malt, and the like. The food aroma additive-type ester-based aromatic attractant can be geranyl and the miticidal substance can be silica gel that absorbs moisture and generates heat to kill mites that have been attracted to eat the bait.

A panel member such as a display panel is rotated with a predetermined shaft as a center of the rotation. With an object to provide a thermoelectric converter excellent in performance, this invention provides a thermoelectric converter provided with a first thermal converter,a blocked second thermal conductor,connected to a predetermined position of the first conductor,a frame,made of a synthetic resin and surrounding the second conductor,a thermally-conductive substrate,with the frame,fixed at a basal end portion,thereof on the substrate and also with a group of thermoelectric elements,supported inside the substrate, and a heat-insulating layer,interposed between the first thermal conductor,and the thermally-conductive substrate,such that the frame,is surrounded at an outer periphery thereof by the heat-insulating layer. The second thermal conductor,and the thermally-conductive substrate,are opposing each other and are maintained in close contact with each other via the group of thermoelectric elements,. The second thermal conductor,and the frame,are provided with an engaging flange,which prevents the second thermal conductor,from undergoing a displacement toward the first thermal conductor,and an engaged portion,which is in engagement with the engaging flange.

Thermoelectric converter

A thermoelectric semiconductor is formed of a sintered semiconductor layer and metal layers arranged on sides of opposite end faces of the sintered semiconductor layer. These metal layers are to inhibit a reaction between the sintered semiconductor layer and solder layers through which electrodes are joined to the sintered semiconductor layer. The sintered semiconductor layer and the metal layers have been obtained beforehand by integrally sintering a semiconductor powder layer and metal sheets arranged on sides of opposite end faces of the semiconductor powder layer.

Thermoelectric semiconductor having a sintered semiconductor layer and fabrication process thereof

A thermoelectric apparatus is composed of a heat-absorbing-side heat-exchanging base and a heat-dissipating-side heat-exchanging base having good thermal conductivity and arranged in a mutually opposing relationship with a group of thermoelectric elements interposed therebetween. The thermoelectric apparatus comprises a frame made of a synthetic resin material and holding one of the heat-absorbing-side heat-exchanging base and the heat-dissipating-side heat-exchanging base at an outer peripheral portion thereof. The frame and the other heat-exchanging base, which is not held by the frame, are both provided with extended portions extending substantially along and substantially in the same direction as a stacked direction of the heat-absorbing-side heat-exchanging base, the group of thermoelectric elements and the heat-dissipating-side heat-exchanging base. The extended portions are joined together.

Thermoelectric apparatus

A temperature-controlled appliance is provided with mutually-independent temperature-controlled compartments arranged close to each other. Each of the compartments comprises a casing formed of a heat-insulating layer, a thermal conductor arranged in the casing and provided with a heat-conducting surface located opposite a storage space in the casing, a Peltier device thermally connected with the thermal conductor, a power supply for feeding electric power to the Peltier device, and a controller for controlling electric power to be fed to the Peltier device so that a temperature in the casing is controlled.

One of a heat-absorbing-side thermal conductor and a heat-dissipating-side thermal conductor is substantially in a form of a single piece. Plural groups of thermoelectric elements are arranged relative to the single-piece thermal conductor. Corresponding to the plural groups of thermoelectric elements, the other one of the heat-absorbing-side thermal conductor and the heat-dissipating-side thermal conductor is arranged in a form divided into a like number of pieces.

Thermoelectric module

A storage box apparatus makes use of thermoelectric modules as devices for cooling or heating storage units, respectively. Each thermoelectric module is provided with a heat-dissipating-side base and a heat-absorbing-side base. A liquid heat transfer medium is spouted against a surface of the heat-dissipating-side base substantially at a right angle.

Watercooler

An air-conditioning ventilator is provided with an air inlet passage and an air outlet passage for ventilation and also with a heat exchanger making use of a thermoelectric module for effecting an exchange of heat with air flowing through one of the passages. At least one of a heat-absorbing system and a heat-dissipating system of the heat exchanger is provided with a heat-transfer-medium-circulating system so that a heat transfer medium is forced to circulate in a liquid form for performing the exchange of heat.
