A fuel reforming catalyst which contains an inorganic porous support, a catalytically active species, and catalyst particles including CeOand ZrOand in which the concentration of ZrOin the catalyst particles is higher in the vicinity of the particle surface than in the particle interior and the concentration of CeOin the catalyst particles is equal in the particle interior and in the vicinity of the particle surface is proposed for the purpose of providing a new fuel reforming catalyst which can effectively lower the concentration of the hydrocarbon of C2 or more in the gas which has passed through a steam reforming reaction.

Fuel reforming catalyst

A fuel cell stack includes a lower end plate for placing a stack body on the lower end plate, a load plate for applying a load to the stack body in a stacking direction, and a fuel cell support member provided between the load plate and the stack body. The fuel cell support member includes composite layers made of composite material of alumina fiber and vermiculite. The fuel cell support member includes a first support section for applying a load to sandwiching sections at a position corresponding to electrolyte electrode assemblies, and a second support section for applying a load to reactant gas supply sections in the stacking direction. The density of the first support section is smaller than the density of the second support section.

SOFC stack with temperature adapted compression force means

A fuel cell stack includes a stack body formed by stacking a plurality of solid oxide fuel cells in a stacking direction. The fuel cell stack includes wall plate members and fuel cell support members. The wall plate members are provided in the stacking direction of the stack body around the sides of the stack body. Each of the fuel cell support members includes a composite layer made of composite material of alumina fiber and vermiculite. The fuel cell support members are interposed between the wall plate members and the sides of the stack body, and apply a load to the sides of the stack body in directions of a separator surface.

A process for producing a sintered aluminum alloy in which dispersion of tensile strength is small and elongation property and fatigue strength are improved. In this process comprising the steps of compacting powder mixture containing rapidly solidified Al&#x2014;Si powder, Al powder and Cu powder or Cu alloy powder into a green compact; sintering the green compact with optional heat treatment, Al powder having a maximum particle size smaller than a specific range, an average particle size within a specific range and specific particle size distribution, is used.

Process for producing sintered aluminum alloy

A toothed belt transmission is provided in which a toothed belt is trained around drive and driven pulleys. Each toothed pulley has a circumferential periphery formed with a plurality of teeth. Adjacent teeth are assigned as a first tooth portion and a second tooth portion. Respective tooth portions have arcuate portions at corners defined between tooth edges and tooth surfaces. A line touching the arcuate portions of the first and second tooth portions is assigned as a common tangential line. A line passing over a starting point of the arcuate portion of the tooth edge of the first tooth is assigned as a first tangential line. An angle between the common tangential line and the first tangential line falls in a range between 6&#xb0; and 14.4&#xb0;.

Toothed belt transmission

There is provided a connecting rod including a connecting rod body and a cap having excellent alignment properties, and a method of producing such a connecting rod. A connecting rod body and a cap are produced through the steps of molding green compacts respectively corresponding to the connecting rod body and the cap; sintering and unifying both the green compacts; forging the resultant sintered product in a mold; and fracturing the resultant forged product. The green compact corresponding to the cap and/or the green compact corresponding to the connecting rod body includes opposite circumferential end faces formed with one or more projection. A clearance c is formed between both circumferential end faces of the sintered product due to the projection. With this clearance c, both the circumferential end faces are formed with recesses and projections which are fitted to each other during the forging process and which are relatively large and thus have large biting amounts. During the fracturing process, the recesses and the projections are separated into two pieces.

Process for producing connecting rod

A plurality of blanks divided at a division end face 5 or a blank-bonded product comprising a plurality of blanks sintered and bonded together are or is compressed in the same mold, so that they are plastically deformed until the division end faces 5 are cohered. Thereafter, a load is applied to the plastically worked product in a direction of breaking of the division end faces 5 to break the division end faces 5 and divide the plastically worked product into a plurality of members. In this manner, a split type mechanical part having irregularities meshed with each other on mating faces and easily positionable relative to each other can be produced with a good dimentional accuracy.

Process for producing split type mechanical part

The Al-Si sintered alloy having good mechanical strength and elongation and is especially excellent in wear resistance, and a method for producing the same. The sintered alloy consists of 2.4-23.5% Si, 2-5% Cu, 0.2-1.5% Mg, 0.01-1% of transition metals and the balance of aluminum and unavoidable impurities, and has a dapple grain structure of an Al-solid solution phase and an Al-Si alloy phase containing dispersed pro-eutectic Si crystals having a maximum diameter of 5-60 .mu.m either in the whole body or in the surface contact portion, and the area ratio of the Al-solid solution phase in the grain structure is in the range of 20-80%.

Wear-resistant sintered aluminum alloy and method for producing the same

In a side-valve internal combustion engine, a combustion chamber in a cylinder head is defined into a substantially triangular pyramid shape having a triangular opened edge. A third angle portion of the opened edge formed by a first slant having a relatively small angle and a second slant having a relatively large angle is offset from an axis of a cylinder bore toward the first slant. Thus, it is possible to a swirl of an air-fuel mixture during an intake stroke to uniformize the air-fuel ratio, thereby providing a reduction in fuel consumption, and producing a swirl of combustion gas during an expansion stroke to eliminate the non-uniformity of combustion, thereby providing an increase in power output and a reduction in amount of unburned components in the exhaust gas.

Side-valve type internal combustion engine

A catalyst body having carried in a carrier a three way conversion catalyst is disposed inside an exhaust pipe near an exit to the atmosphere. An internal combustion engine is operated in a rich range of air/fuel ratio. Reducing reaction of the exhaust gas takes place in a front portion of the catalyst body. Oxidizing reaction takes place in a rear portion of the catalyst body by intermittently introducing atmospheric air into the catalyst body through pulsations of the exhaust gas.

Method and apparatus of purifying exhaust gas from internal combustion

Disclosed is a sintered alloy composition and method of manufacturing the same, the sintered alloy composition having a multi-phase structure, comprising: a first phase composed of aluminum and copper; and a second phase being dispersed in the first phase and composed of molybdenum, chromium, silicon and cobalt. This alloy composition has excellent abrasion and corrosion resistance, preferably to be used for making machine parts such as valve seats for engines.
