In the case of a small-sized motor of the present invention, a printed board to which an electric circuit including an electric element is attached is mounted on a case cover. The printed board has a soldering part to be connected to a member attached to an interior of the case cover for being connected to an electric power source supplied from an outside and a soldering part to be connected to a projection in a notch provided on an opening part side of the metal case to body-earth the electric circuit. In the soldering part for the body-earthing, at the time of assembling the motor, after fitting the case cover to the metal case opening part, a pair of electrodes are brought into contact from an outside of the metal case near the soldering part, to weld the soldering part by a principle of the electric resistance welding. Consequently, it is possible to easily and surely body-earth the earth of the electric circuit to the metal case, and to reduce the number of the motor assembling steps so that the assembling can be performed with a good working property.

Small-sized motor and manufacturing method thereof

A commutator has such a construction that a flange having an outside diameter larger than the outside diameter of a cylindrical body is provided integrally with the cylindrical body in the vicinity of one end of the cylindrical body; guide grooves formed in a circular arc shape in cross section are provided on the flange at the boundary of the flange to the cylindrical body; engaging pieces passing through the guide grooves are provided on one end of a commutator segment; and engaging pieces are caused to deform plastically to fixedly fit the engaging pieces to the flange.

A miniature motor having a rotor comprising a commutator having locating projections formed on the commutator reference surface coming in contact with a rotor core, and a rotor core having thereon locating key holes for engaging with the locating projections; the commutator being fitted to the rotor core by engaging the locating projections with the locating key holes until the commutator reference surface comes in contact with the rotor core; in which each of the locating projections has a temporary insertion portion at the tip thereof, whose cross-section is smaller than the cross-section of the locating key hole, and a full insertion portion for engaging with the locating key hole; the full insertion portion has such a length that the commutator tongue of the commutator is located at a position higher than the height of the rotor windings in a state where the temporary insertion portion is inserted into the locating key hole.
